Gofundme started for his daughters.....
I work in an ALS clinic and absolutely some patients deteriorate quickly and/or can easily be taken down by any kind of cold or infection.. It's a terrible terrible disease.

Seems he too was having major financial problems.

The GoFundMe is interesting. I feel like in the old days, there would be trust accounts opened at local banks to benefit the surviving family. Maybe GFM is just the modern day version of that.

So awful. May he rest in peace. We’ve lost a lot of starts lately who seemed like good people.

I hope the folks criticizing the Van Der Beeks’ Go Fund Me make their way to this thread. Eric Dane has one now and he’s worth $7 million.

These recent deaths reminded me of the old thread https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/929074.page

And what about Jesse Jackson? Did you forget him?

He’s not an actor. I am talking about beloved actors from movies or TV.

I have a friend who’s husband with ALS took their own life to end their suffering so this is not an unexpected question.

I suspect his wife will step in and divert the funds to ALS research. I doubt she started the campaign.

ALS took his life. Eric just had to play the crappy hand he was dealt as best as he could. Whatever happened isn't anyone's business but his own and his family's.

His wife’s boyfriend is worth $800 million. She doesn’t need the money.

Why does it matter? He’s gone. Why are people speculating about this? ALS is terminal so no matter what, you’re dying. Let it go.

I was surprised that’s all because it was so soon after he announced his diagnosis.
