I'm on week 4 here and my whole family is still coughing! I have a lot of trouble going to sleep because I can feel it dripping down my throat and I have this weird raspy cough. Miserable.

I'm on day 14. Still spiking a fever occasionally. I'm now on antibiotics for a bacterial sinus infection. I think I'm starting to feel slightly better, but it certainly isn't changing rapidly.

Hand washing only helps a little bit. Try hand washing and Masking when out and about, especially at medical facilities. But really I do it for Target/grocery store/public transportation/etc as well, because I prefer not to be sick.

wrong, handwashing makes a huge difference.

This is obviously very anecdotal (but its a thread full of anecdotes) but I got flu A from my spouse. My parents were both vaccinated and heavily exposed to us but did not get sick. I assumed the vaccine had this strain covered or at least was effective protection. My kids did not get it either though, despite being more exposed to us and no flu vax. DH was ill for about a week and I was ill less than a week but we are both still short of breath two weeks later.

I'm shocked that doctors offices aren't masking up right now bc of all the covid and the "super flu" that's going around. It's a real shame.

I just saw my doctor on Monday for a routine physical and he was wearing a mask. But he didn't have it over his nose. It bugged me the whole time - either wear or don't wear it, I don't care. But half wearing a mask is stupid.

+1 and you should thank heavens for all of us that provide herd immunity. Imagine if we were all selfish like this and diseases were even more rampant? I can't believe people don't factor overall population health and just focus on their own.

+ people act like this is heart disease or high blood pressure or something. Even the most effective vaccine will fail if it is tested against wild virus hundreds or thousands of times.

90% of pediatric flu deaths last year were unvaccinated children. 80% of all flu deaths last year were unvaccinated people.

Those numbers don’t mean anything if we don’t know the percentage of the whole pediatric and general population who received the vaccine.

I am in CA and have only heard of one family that got the flu. there used to be a flu map where I could see the severity in each state, I think it was called flunearyou.com but the website doesn't exist anymore. does anyone know where I could find the national flu map?

Every doctor I have seen has been masked up for the past few weeks at the office.

I did just get the flu shot a couple weeks ago due to it being a strong season this year.

A doctor should know better that that but maybe if you weren't wearing one he thought you don't care. He might have pulled his up if you had one on but I don't think you did.
