But with her husband’s politics, I imagine they want to project an image of simplicity and almost “poverty” so they can relate to their constituents. Like Gwen Waltz in her TJ Maxx suits.

This is where it’s probably easier to be a Republican because they flat out don’t care if you know they’re rich, they are opulent as f, whereas the Democrats try to downplay it (even though most of them are also super rich, except for dear ol Bernie and Tim).

About the coat:"a custom brown faux-fur and wool coat from Palestinian-Lebanese designer Cynthia Merhej's brand Renaissance Renaissance. According to the brand, the coat – featuring a three-tier fringe detail – was completely sourced and made in Beirut, Lebanon, based on a design from its fall/winter 2023 collection."

She will be wearing expensive clothing and it will only get more expensive. Watch his net worth go through the roof mysteriously. So it always goes with redistributionist lefties.
That said even though I hate everything they stand for i think she's a doll. Super cute and stylish.

+1

It is also very professional for her job. She is an artist!

She has no reason to look like a boring DC lawyer. She isn't one.

This. This board is so square and unimaginative sometimes. Here is an *actually* stylish woman who has found a look that works for her in a specific way, and people here are like "hmm get rid of the bangs, grow the hair out, highlights, wear jewel tones." So freaking boring.

“Square”? You may think this woman is “actually stylish,” but many of us disagree with you. I guess you’ll just have to deal with it.

No it was very odd and unflattering even though the Cut was aiming for a glamorous look.

I wonder if this is an age divide. I'm a younger millennial and her style is precisely on point with younger esthetics. There's serious backlash to the influencer look.

She doesn’t even dress like an influencer! Gen X women who are weight and appearance obsessed just can’t comprehend the idea of an outfit a woman might like because it’s interesting, even if it doesn’t “flatter” her figure or accentuate it.

Especially when you compare her to the Mar-a-lago face. Do people really think that looks good?

DP. You know there’s a HUGE gulf between the two extremes, right?

+100
It was awful.

Thank you!

I think the haircut does her face no favors.

Can anyone on the fashion forum act normal for five minutes please? You can just say you liked or didn't like stuff and move on. You don't have to melt down every time someone thinks Rama looked bad or, conversely, repeatedly insist she is the ugliest woman to ever live. (I know that poster is a certain troll from the Trump women thread angry that people like a liberal brown woman's style instead of her idol's.)

Just say what you liked or didn't like and move on without dragging politics or weird racial theories into everything.

Yeah, I don't like it either. It looks so incomplete to me, like someone started to give her a textured bob and then just gave up right before finishing. That said, I do think she has the kind of striking profile necessary to pull it off.

It's such a backhanded sounding compliment so I hate to give it but she is so uniquely/unconventionally pretty, but I genuinely mean that. She looks like how I imagine ancient Roman women looked.

I agree. It's not just redistributionist lefties, though, it's literally everyone involved in politics regardless of party. But yes. Rama's clothes will get fancier and fancier. But they will be bobo-chic, thrifted/vintage like the Balenciaga coat she wore. (Which, btw, I don't like her style but I loved that one.)

No, I am 52, fairly conservative, and I think she looks great. At 28, she has already developed her style.

Does she really count as brown? I could pass for her sister and I'm white (part Sicilian).
I dress in a similar fashion so it was odd for me to see someone so visually similar gain the spotlight. I'm also Republican!

I think she counts as brown, yes.

Thank you for being normal! See? If everyone could be more like you and put politics aside to discuss fashion, these threads would run much smoother.
