The goalposts are swaying in the wind as you move them Soccer has more youth participants than football You were wrong saying football is more popular |
Literally no one said "football is more popular with kids". Reading comprehension is important when trying to engage in dialogue, at least if you want to appear intelligent. |
Oof, you even doubled down on misreading literally anyone saying "football is more popular". Talk about swaying the goal posts. |
| Interesting poll question would be, how many parents on dcum played football vs soccer? |
Can you highlight for me where I said football is more popular than soccer please. Or do you have a reading comprehension issue? |
Those numbers don't mean a lot without more information. How many people participated? Where was this research conducted, etc. |
Most probably played neither, at least not well. This is why some are obsessed with their child(ren)'s sports "career. |
| All I can say is cultures like what they like and that gets passed down by generations. I mean cricket is the 2nd most popular sport in the world and as a general sports enthusiast I can enjoy pretty much any sport in person but cricket is not it for me and dont understand the love for it just like you and American football lol. I'm sure if I grew up where cricket is popular it'd be a different story. |
But football is more popular than soccer with kids. It’s what they watch, talk about, wear, play fantasy leagues. Even most of the kids who play travel soccer would tell you their favorite sport is football. Soccer is just an activity their parents signed them up for. |
A quick Google search of "aspen institute youth sports participation" produced multiple results including an almost 150 page pdf document on the research |
You live in Nebraska? I don't see more kids wearing football jerseys over soccer jerseys around the dmv Add to that, the kids in general are now more into hoodies and current trends designer name brands |
| People here barely know the rules of soccer. Not that interesting to watch a game when you can’t understand it. |
Why don't the parents sign them up for football? |
Good point Plus they cant yell at the ref and other parents while watching the game on TV |
I'm voting for soccer having the edge haha |
