It’s a high margin, niche professional services industry (think consulting, recruiting, sales, etc). But if you’re good at what you do, and you can get competent people who will also make money for you to work with you, it’s completely doable. I love being my own boss and will never go back. Even if I made the exact same amount, I’d never work for someone else again. |
| About 550k with bonus and vest. 1 income household, mid 50s. We are in the mode of saving/ investing everything that we can, maxing HSA and 401k etc. So we live in far less. |
Thanks PP. You’ve given me a lot of inspiration. |
| Another 400k base dual income family here. Plus around 40k in bonuses this year. Tween/teen kids. I feel incredibly rich though - we have everything we need and then some (though I'd love to put in a pool). |
| Probably $200k? My wife got a new job this year with a big pay increase. |
Our HHI per the IRS is a lot higher than what we actually receive due to phantom partnership income. |
| HHI 340. DH 190, me 150. DH got 14k bonus. I got nothing, Our org only gives like 1% bonus anyway but not even that. I've been there 4 years, have received the same COL raises as any one else, and I outperformed my colleagues at similar title by many measures and had glowing reviews. I asked for a merit raise, we will see what happens. |
Do you work locally in the DMV? This is what DC wants to do. Any advice? |
| About $400k base. Bonus is still TBD, but probably around another $400k. |
Ours are spread in four draws, starting in March. |
It's a fetish. Some of these people are obsessed. |
Those that are obsessed generally are the ones with $1MM+ incomes for that exact reason. They just want to keep playing the game. |
| 67 million dollars - what a stupid OP |
Our income fluctuates because neither of us has a salary. We’re both 100% bonus/commission. This year our income will be $820k-$850k. It felt very risky when we both took these jobs since we have kids, mortgage etc. but the ability to make good money has been great. |
| Hopefully all of you are contributing to making people with less money a happy Christmas by giving money to agencies who specialize in this. |
