Admiral Alvin Holsey refused the orders and was forced to resign and retire. But hey, he will not have to answer to war crimes and his conscience is clear. |

Pentagon admits Kabul drone strike that killed 10 civilians, including up to 7 children, was a 'tragic mistake' US officials have apologised for killing innocent civilians in a drone strike near Kabul airport on 29 August, admitting they had mistakenly thought they were targeting a facilitator for ISIS-K. By Alexa Phillips, news reporter Saturday 18 September 2021 Excerpts..... "Gen Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters two days after the attack that it appeared to have been a "righteous" strike and that at least one of the people killed was a "facilitator" for ISIS-K - the Islamic State group's Afghanistan affiliate." "Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said: "We now know that there was no connection between Mr Ahmadi and ISIS-Khorasan, that his activities on that day were completely harmless and not at all related to the imminent threat we believed we faced." "We apologise, and we will endeavour to learn from this horrible mistake." "US President Joe Biden had touted the strike as a success and as proof that the US could carry out "over the horizon" strikes from outside Afghanistan." https://news.sky.com/story/pentagon-admits-kabul-drone-strike-that-killed-10-civilians-including-up-to-7-children-was-a-tragic-mistake-12410757 |
Exactly |
Exactly, a mistake. As opposed to Trump and Hesgeth’s illegal murder order. Thanks for clarifying for this board. |
Also we were at war with Afghanistan on the date of attack and are not at war with Venezuela |
You cannot be this freaking stupid. An accident is different from murder, which is what Hegsbreath committed. I wonder if he was sober when he gave that order. At his arraignment, he should plead not guilty by reason of intoxication. |
|
During the Nuremberg Trials after WWII, German submarine commanders were executed for ordering the murder of shipwreck survivors.
Laws haven't changed. What Hegseth ordered is a war crime. He belongs in The Hague. And everyone that followed that very illegal order has to go on trial. Murdering shipwreck survivors has never been standard operating procedure - and everyone in the Navy knows that. |
Being drunk is not a valid defense l. |
You’re not the brightest bulb, are ya? |
I don't care what happens to Hegseth, because he's likely going to be protected anyway, but this admiral needs to be severely punished. He should have known better, and the troops need to see examples made out of all the people who decided this was somehow not murder. |
Yes. I agree. Could this be handled by an international body like the ICC? How might it get to that point? |
I caught on but I can see this as a defense by hegseth. |
Both of you are morons |
Ah, you're scared because your drunk boy is going down, sooner or later. |
Better lawyer up. |
