Gpt and I did about 12 months of therapy in a few weeks. I started regular in person therapy and I’ve spent $1500 and were just getting to know each other, it’s like 25 minutes of real work when you subtract the niceties and word searching. GPT is $200 a month and I hit it anytime I’m feeling open.
Do yourselves a favor and ask it where you’re wrong, ask for brutality honest reviews of your processes and then ask it to tell you your blind spots. Thus will keep it from being a cheerleader. |
| I am usually really bad at interpreting subtext or when people are being oblique about things. I frequently put emails and texts and work announcements into GPT and ask it to give a couple of likely readings for things that are perhaps hinted at but not said directly. |

It doesn't "understand" you. It's spits out pre-programmed answers based on your input the way it was programmed. Probably no worse and a lot cheaper than actual counseling. |
It also stores her information and uses it to provide therapy to others. I am curious about AI creating dating profiles then handling the basic OLD conversations though. Never considered the benefits of AI arranged marriages/breeding but can't say I would resist it. |

| I feel you OP. I posted a question on DCUM, got ripped 20 times for being a loser before 3 people finally chimed in with some rational advice. ChatGPT gave me the rational advice in 0.2 seconds with the next steps to follow. |
| I love chatgpt but I don't use it for therapy. I use it to help gain self awareness. I wish I could afford sessions with a psychotherapist but I can't, so for me the next best thing is to use Chatgpt to learn about what, for example, books top psychotherapists recommend to their patients, or textbooks they read themselves. I ask it to give feedback on how I understand my patterns of behavior and whether my actions are aligned with my goals. |
DCUM gives the worst advice!!! It is not validating, will only judge you. Maybe someone should make a mean ChatGPT for those of us who miss emotional abuse. |
$200 a month? What are you talking about. I converse with ChatGPT for hours most days for free. I know there is a $20 a month upgrade for some kind of better features but I don't need that. |

I use it for business and the $20 account doesn’t keep track of long projects as well as I wanted so I upgraded. The performance is indistinguishable for personal issues on the free/$20 versions. |
Not all feelings are valid, pp. Surely you understand this. That is the point of therapy -- to identify which feelings are valid and which are not. If all you want from therapy is 100% validation of how you feel, you're doing it wrong. |
