Husbands, please be honest. Would you cheat given the chance?

No and I've had the opportunity. No desire to risk my marriage and hurt my wife.

Every men would be tempted but probably a good 25% still won't do it for reasons like religion, ethics, reputation, kids, divorce etc.

Men think they can keep it a secret so it won't hurt their wife or reputation.

If you are truly religious or ethical, you know it and God knows it, even if nobody else does.

I'm the PP. Even if I could, its not worth it. I wouldn't blow up my happy marriage and life just to sleep with someone.

This is why I only hook up with AP at church, or the hospital chapel in a pinch.

I am guessing he is cheating, dislikes you or you are really bad in bed. No man abstains from sex.

I’ve had opportunities but never have. I don’t need that skeleton in my closet.

I used to not believe that, but now at 55, I agree with you. Since I turned 50- the sheer number of men I now know have cheated in their marriages—-neighbors, co-workers, friends’ spouses, acquaintances is huge AND some of these guys you just never ever would have suspected for numerous reasons. A few totally shocked me.

How do you find out about this? I am early 40s and have literally never heard of a single couple where cheating has been involved. There’s also been no divorces that I even know of. We all have kids from early elementary to middle school. Am I living under a rock?! Or people just don’t tell?

We've had four couples in our friend group divorce in the last 10 years. There was infidelity in all of those marriages, although it wasn't necessarily the reason for the divorce.

You guys are lying on an anonymous forum? As a single woman in DC I am hit on by married men far more than I’m hit on by single men. I’m not saying it’s unique to DC, but the men here do seem to have a particular issue with fidelity. However, given how utterly boring and plain the wives around here look I am not surprised.
