My package was stolen. What responsibility does the sender have?

I think the difference is that Frye is a small retailer, not a behemoth. And Amazon has a significant partnership with Kohl's. They can afford to replace for good will, customer service reasons. With as much porch pirating as there is now, a small retailer couldn't afford to replace.

Then I wouldn’t shop there again.

Totally makes sense. Hold the company that had nothing to do with the package being stolen accountable. That will solve the theft issues in the neighborhood.

Why is it so hard to process that the company failed to uphold its agreement (in writing) to send a shipment tracker? Shipment trackers, amongst other things, are tools to communicate with the customer, ensure the package reaches the appropriate hands, and prevent theft. The company miscommunicated, and a package was stolen.

Where is that stated? I must have missed it. What I read was OP expected the notification of shipping, not that she had anything in writing.

People here are nasty and often wrong. I’ve had packages stolen. And gotten refunds.

Many co do this. Amazon does it and you don’t need to be ‘irate’. It’s their responsibility to get your items to you safely

Well I am certainly not eating that!

It's ridiculous that fear of bad reviews made this poor company take a loss on the theft just because OP didn't check her porch and mistakenly thinks the company is at fault.

Disgusting behavior on the part of OP.

Companies build shoplifting into their prices. It’s called “shrinkage” in the retail industry. This is just another form of shrinkage. We all pay.

This.

Do the police have a list of suspects? How is their criminal investigation going? Are investigators close to cracking this case?

Absolutely correct.

She did an exchange and received absolutely no notification of the replacement being fulfilled or shipped or delivered.

Package theft is in the burbs too. Section 8 criminals are everywhere, especially post great recession.

Why? The company shipped and delivered the product to your house. You refused to check the camera. Your entitlement is ridiculous.

Delivery men pretty much never ring the door bell because they’ve been screamed at too many times about waking sleeping babies.

It's because law enforcement does literally nothing for crimes like this. I had my windows smashed, things stolen, their car/license plate on camera, and still it went nowhere. I absolutely cared but just kept getting the run-around from law enforcement.

You have insurance. People need to eat.

I understand Frye boots are quite tasty if prepared properly.

I'll just check with the boys down at the crime lab. They got four more detectives working on the case. They got us working in shifts!
