No one is forcing anyone to do anything. You can work for free in hopes of getting paid in the future, or you can quit and get a new job. It's a sucky situation, but you have options.

Agree. And while the current administration is purely awful and evil, the above has always been true. It isnt new that federal employees are subject to shutdowns. You could have prepared for this. And you can even now quit if it doesn't align with your career needs.

I’m one of a small handful of exempt workers at my agency - everyone (furloughed or not.) was instructed to fill out time cards through the end of Sept and leave the rest blank. We are manually keeping track of hours spent on our special project to code it correctly when government reopens

OP here. And l am again sipping coffee dreading going into another day in the office without pay. I'm the only civilian - all other are military. Morale for me is below 0.

Which supervisor annoys you most? Maybe there is some small way to make their life a bit more miserable today (or in the future).
