There’s probably truth to that - I wouldn’t be bothered to buy a kid a suit jacket just to please someone like you. The bride, groom and young people in attendance will not care.


Why is what a child wears less significant than how the adults dress?

Because he is a CHILD. Who will get squirmy, itchy, hot, and uncomfortable in a suit. Slacks and a button down shirt are perfectly appropriate wedding attire for a child.


"Because he is a child" begs the question. Children can be well dressed and not excessively uncomfortable, at least no more than adults are in comparable clothing.
