I think what you perceive as “glossing over” is simply the reality of the statehood vs. lack of statehood question. It will always be far easier to focus on the human rights abuses of a nation with a sovereign government than it will be to focus on (and do anything about) the human rights abuses of a militia. For better or worse, the former is held to a much higher standard of conduct.

There are plenty of well-nourished young men seen milling around in images from Gazan hospitals and aid distribution points, and plenty of well-nourished adult females in imagery from funerals and shelters. Kind of hard to reconcile that with selected images of malnourished children.

I’ve viewed many photos and videos from WWII detention centers with plenty of seemingly well-nourished detainees milling about. I never took that to mean that what we were told was occurring in those detention centers wasn’t actually happening …

But I’m not an abject moron, so I guess my mileage does indeed vary from yours.

The only well-fed people in German concentration camp photos were Germans. In Gaza, however, the adults all seem to be doing pretty well for themselves, especially the Hamas-aged males.
