If you are set on a bracelet, I’d go with something more dainty like a tennis bracelet or a gold rope.

Do not buy diamond studs for this purpose. Diamonds--other than an engagement ring--are not for daytime wear. She should not be wearing diamond studs to the office.

This is outdated advice. I and plenty of other women in the corporate world wear simple diamond studs daily.

Just because you do it, doesn't make it right. It is not outdated. It is tacky for the office.

No, you’re just ancient. Styles and “rules” change; if not, you’d still be wearing a corset and bloomers.

Agree. We live in a world where people wear pajamas and slippers in public on a regular basis and no one cares. Diamond studs in the day time is no longer a fashion faux pas.

This made me laugh.

OP - not everyone like to wear bangles for everyday especially work. It would make me crazy to have it banging away while keyboarding. If you're set on a bracelet, suggest a linked one with perhaps scattered diamonds. And by the way, make those lab diamonds.
They are the same quality as natural and brings the cost down to Hermes level. Or if she wants a brand name, Tiffany's diamonds by the yard is very recognizable. It would be a delicate chain necklace with say 1 diamond that's specially set. She can wear it anywhere. Some women shower with it.

Ha. I can only imagine the look on the anti-diamond PP’s face if she ran into one of these Gen z interns wearing jorts to the office as business casual! Appropriate times to wear diamond studs should be the least of our worries!

Ippolita has some lovely pieces at different price points.

Everybody keeps saying this but as someone who loves Hermes bangles (sadly I only have three)...you can just take them off when you type? It really is not a big deal at all.

I said not everyone. It's individual. If OP hasn't seen his spouse wear any type of bangles, it's an expensive mistake. I don't recall if he did.

I bet you still wear pantyhose too...

No, I do not. I have not worn them since I was in my early 20s in the late 90s, when it was still fashionable to do so. They are somewhat out of fashion now--and just unattractive so I don't. The other things I don't wear: Diamonds to work or white after Labor Day and before Memorial Day. Some rules just don't go out of style.

Which proofs PP's point that your preferences are outdated for young generations.

+1 this is such outdated advice. Most of the women I socialize with wear diamond studs everyday.

Diamond, zirconia, crystal etc all are acceptable in decent size.

I agree that diamond studs are fine for daytime and the office. Those outdated rules are silly.

My ears are sensitive to most metal (even 18k gold), but I can wear platinum. I wear small diamond studs in a platinum setting every day and work in an office five days a week. I take them out at night because they pull on the pillowcase. I tried those titanium nap earrings and the first earlobe turned red before I had even gotten the second earring in. My platinum studs are the only ones that don’t cause irritation. Am I supposed to give up earrings and let the piercings close because some rando came up with an arbitrary rule ~100 years ago? Why do people limit their personal freedom based on an outdated opinion of a stranger from a different time?

I'm from Europe (educated in England at private schools) and I still prefer to wear pearls during the day and diamonds in the evening. *shrugs*

It is if you are typing most of the day.
