If you are set on a bracelet, I’d go with something more dainty like a tennis bracelet or a gold rope.

Do not buy diamond studs for this purpose. Diamonds--other than an engagement ring--are not for daytime wear. She should not be wearing diamond studs to the office.

This is outdated advice. I and plenty of other women in the corporate world wear simple diamond studs daily.

Just because you do it, doesn't make it right. It is not outdated. It is tacky for the office.

I bet you still wear pantyhose too...

Go to a jewelry store. Not a brand name like Tiffany or Cartier but a good jewelry store like Tiny Jewel Box and pick out something that is actually worth your money.

Can you ask one of her female relatives, like mom or sister. Or ask her what are 2 or 3 stores she would like you to look in, since you don’t know what she means by nice jewelry.

Faberge eggs are enameled.

Let's not criticize an entire technique just because the raw materials aren't as costly.

No, I do not. I have not worn them since I was in my early 20s in the late 90s, when it was still fashionable to do so. They are somewhat out of fashion now--and just unattractive so I don't. The other things I don't wear: Diamonds to work or white after Labor Day and before Memorial Day. Some rules just don't go out of style.

I like the Lagos bracelets. I love the diamond station ones.

Sorry, no. You don't get to decide which outdated fashion rules are in or out.

And the whole white after Labor Day is rooted in classism and racism... the more you know

I like these too. Or a basic Tiffany hardware silver bracelet isn’t too expensive.

David Yurman is nice but a lot of influencers are into it as a cheaper VCA/Cartier alternative these days, which makes me not want any of it.

I’d look for something more unique from a jewelry store.

For the actual Hermes question, I like the thinner enamel bracelets with a colorful design, but I wouldn’t wear it every day.

I have a medium-weight Tiffany Hardwear bracelet that I love, but I knew I wanted it and actually dropped specific hints about it.

I think bracelets—esp. bangles—are in some ways much more specific to the person than earrings or necklaces, because people who do a lot with their hands may have VERY strong preferences about them based not just on how they look, but on the esthetic experience of wearing them.

OP: have you considered asking for more detail about what she’d like?

This is hilariously wrong. Women have worn diamond studs in every law firm and corporate office I have ever worked in (I’m almost 60), and I have worked in NYC and DC.

I gave several Hermes enamel bracelets and stack them with other bracelets all the time. I think they are a great way to add a little color to my jewelry and they are timeless. FWIW, my DH has bought me a lot of fine jewelry (too much?) and I think the enamel bracelets get more use than almost all of it.

+1000
Virtually every one of my friends wear (large) diamond studs as their everyday earrings - and I also worked in NY firms.

NP. Are you the poster who constantly recommends a string of pearls or a “lovely scarf”?

OMG. I’m your age and you are hilariously prissy and out of touch. Are you trolling?

Oval bangles are much more comfortable than round bangles if you decide to go with bracelet gift. Not skinny but not wide is also easier to wear and looks classier.

I’m not sure I could type comfortably with these.
