Fact is Dempsey is the best international we have produced in the US and he never played club soccer.
|
I think you are spot on. MLS is going all in on this. |
| Its the only way to cut out corrupt club poeple who push bad players for $$$$ |
| AI says that player sucks but what about this other kid who AI loves.... |
You just need to train AI with video of top players when they were young. |
Taka is not AI though, at least not completely. The games are watched by actual people and there is a specific rating system that they follow. Not making this up but apparently they hire a number of Eastern Europeans. There was an article/interview with the creators. Trace and prob Veo is AI in that they just track significant touches the player has and tries to categorize it. |
The way AI works is though millions of versions of somehting 3-4 results are presented. The computer doesnt know which of the 3-4 are better or worse. This is where people come in + select the best option. Lather rinse repeat thousands of times and the AI can identify which version people will most likely choose as the best option. Once you get to this point AI can identify a player as talented from video alone. |
Oh I see. So because it is Trace and Veo videos that are fed into Taka, a live person is really only rating the highlights/plays that are caught by Trace/Veo AI? Or whatever Taka is doing now is training AI to take over mostly down the road? |
Correct, video is being fed into AI. AI then selects what it thinks would be the best versions of what its being asked or programmed to look for. The result is presented to a person and they confirm/deny if the results are good/bad. Now AI has a better understanding about what should be presented the next time. Do this process 1000x and you'll get a decent initial response from AI. |
| Taka keeps getting my DC mixed up with another play in the clips. Partly his fault by having a mop hair cut like others (lol) |
Fact is Clint Dempsey played for Dallas Texans. It’s literally in his Wikipedia page. |
To Taka’s credit, they have been very good (when asked) at correcting misidentified players or assigning players to significant plays they’ve noticed but credited to “unknown.” |
Correct. I anticipate sometime soon scouts searching TAKA for the highest ranking kids in the six metric verticals and target accordingly. |
I wonder if they will share the individual ratings with the players themselves. It seems unfair for scouts and coaches to have access to all that information when the players don’t have it themselves. How do we know what is a good rating? Or what is the average number of significant plays? I also wonder if players who are thought to be good players are getting the expected number of significant and top plays. Or are a lot of players being humbled? |
What are the six metrics again? Dribbling, 1v1, passing, shots, intelligence, aerial? |
