Drunk texting your mother is kind of weird

Uh no, studying for finals. Not everyone is a loser.

I think the main issue is thats it's happening at 8am on weekend morning, not the text itself. And a nanny has a real familial relationship to the kids and mom so you have my permission to keep sending, just not at 8 am. It's actually really nice of you!
Well thank you for sharing your kids with me-they are amazing!!!!!!

I (we) got a Happy Mother's Day message from a group text at 6 AM today. Ugh!

A nanny is different; if you cared for someone’s children, you are part of the family.

If you don’t know how to use the settings to silence notifications except for important people, have someone help you so you can avoid it in the future. Also, while you’re annoyed, it could be worse. Be thankful people care about and notice you.

See, but this is what it really is. People who don’t feel noticed or important seek out attention in the guise of thinking of someone else. We can tell who needs attention.

And yet, you not only “bear” it on Mother’s Day, you seek it out on Mother’s Day. Sounds like you need to get a grip.

OP are you unaware how Do Not Disturb or Mute settings work on your phone?

Yeah. I have DND on until 7. All that gets through are phone calls, which if anyone calls me before then, it will be an emergency. You can also allow only certain contacts to break the DND.

Basically, people creating dumb problems.

It’s a holiday for kids to celebrate their moms/grandmothers. Period.

Maybe my kids have made me a sap, but I love getting the texts. Can’t women support other women?

I support women by serving as a mentor at work, giving mothers who have been out of the workforce extra review and consideration when I serve on search committees, raising money for the House of Ruth, saying “yes” to favors when asked by other mothers, using Buy Nothing to directly donate really good-quality clothing rather than selling consignment, and fighting for reproductive rights.

I don’t need to send generic texts to support women. That’s not supporting women, that’s pretending you do.

Calm down. Nobody is saying you need to. People are complaining about receiving well wishes.

Pay attention. It's about randos who insist on sending "well wishes" at 6 am on Sunday morning

People who do not know how to use DND should not be paid any attention to.

They’re not well wishes, they are bids for attention, and we all know the difference.
