| For me, I put my phone on DND. But my 76 year old mother, for example, does not use this feature, and would not want 8am texts. |
This. DND only allows certain numbers, which defeats the whole point of being able to contact someone in an emergency |
They go to bed late too around 9:30-10. I’m just talking about the weekends. On school days they go to bed by 8:30 and we wake them up at 8:30. But naturally they are late risers and don’t get sleepy til late. Been like that since they were babies. Some people are just wired that way. |
I don't think you understand how the technology works. You can schedule a TEXT (just like email) to be sent at a later time. You can choose a specific date and time for the text to be delivered automatically. |
You can also set it that DND will be broken if the same number calls/texts more than once (bc that indicates something urgent/emergency). So this is an easy one to get around. |
You are so clueless. Some people are first responders. Some people have parents in hospice. Some people are on call. Get out of your privilege bubble |
Yes so easy that my room parent group chat blew up and broke through my DND with endless "loved", "liked", and thumbs up responses to HMD bouquet heart emojis at the crack of dawn |
| Some of you are really just a bunch of miserable people who don't seem to appreciate anything. Reading DCUM never fails to make me realize how nasty most of you are. |
| I'm trying to not be a grinch, but why is anyone but my kids and maybe my mom wishing me a happy mothers day? I really don't need any other outsiders wishing me a happy mothers day. It's just kind of weird. It's not like Thanksgiving, it's just a holiday between kids and their mothers. |
DP. So set your alerts accordingly. You claim pp has privilege, but what about people who don't work 9-5 jobs? Sometimes people work the night shift - and that's when they can be responsive. Honestly I think some people in life just never take accountability. You alone are responsible for your phone alerts. Deal. |
Then you get a land line, and have people call that in your emergency situation from a random phone number. |
Ridiculous! You will do all kinds of mental contortions but not simply schedule your text within normal times |
You’ve got that “get off my lawn” vibe. Just very negative and crotchety. “Junk texts” from people who obviously hold you in high regard? Geez. |
But you are a grinch. I don’t GAF about Mother’s Day - I never remember when it falls and don’t need any special celebration but I can’t imagine wasting even a second looking askance at people who thought of me and took the time to send positive regards. I don’t find that weird at all. I find this “grinchiness” weird, though. |
How do you HAVE friends? I truly don’t understand. |
