That said, it’s incredibly frustrating that so many non-Catholics are trying to make him a pawn in American left-right politics. Just stop. Let us have our moment of joy with him.

I am not sure you are aware of the extensive efforts by many Catholic churches to get their congregations to vote for Trump. It was relentless. Every single week, every single mass at our parish. It was intense and political and now we are all suffering the consequences.

So no. The church inserted itself heavily into the 2024 election. It is a political entity and that was its own doing.

lol... perhaps this was the case in your backwoods hillbilly church of 75 IQ idiots but there was no widespread support for Trump in the Catholic Church.

Holy crap, that's outrageous. What parish was that? They should be admonished. Ours absolutely never talks politics like that.

What parish wasn't it? Pray for the unborn pray for the unborn pray for the unborn pray for the unborn pray for the unborn pray for the unborn. And vote accordingly.

There was an actual Black man who was in the running, but the scared white folks like the ones on this board didn’t want him.

Who cares what skin color the Pope has? I do think Popes should be allowed to have vaginas too. Who made all of these silly rules? What's up with the smoke thing too? Weird religious freaks.

Not among congregants, but that doesn't mean that certain Diocese didn't take the actions described. It would not shock or surprise me if this happened.

Welp. Don't think you're Catholic so you don't get a vote. But, really neither do Catholics because clericalism.

LMAO one minute you people say "Obama was born in Kenya" and the next you say he wasn't black?

As for Prevost, Pope Leo - records for his maternal grandparents say they were "black" or "creole" or "mulatto" which means they were part black.

So we've had both a President with black ancestry and now a Pope with black ancestry.

But you say "no" - why? Because what, only descendants of black slaves brought to America count? (weird FBA take) or what, only blacks directly off the boat from Africa count? Or what?
