TJ kid and suspecting hidden disability

OP: You need a complete diagnostic to understand what is happening. I have siblings that are brilliant who struggled in school because they wouldn't do homework, wouldn't do projects, but would get a B in the class because they got 100% on every test. They have struggled as adults because they learned that they could skip the parts of school they didn't like and do fine. They try to do that at work and have had issues with maintaining employment.

One sibling has a child that is stupid smart with autism who is struggling as an adult. I would put money on that sibling having autism as well, but it was never diagnosed. He was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult.

Start by getting your child a complete nueropsych and see what comes out of that.

Part of the reaction you are getting is that many people with kids posting on this forum have kids that are struggling to stay on the degree path at school or will never be on the degree track at school. Parents are raising kids who might never live independently and require constant attention and lots of therapy. Your child could very well be ND and the signs are coming more clearly to the surface because he is in a highly competitive environment that is challenging him. His issues, if he is diagnosed with issues, will be real as well but they are going to be very different.
