It is just to make B students feel better

Sorry, B students are not admitted to Vandy.

If they are 6-foot-10 and can consistently drain threes they are

Sadly, the 6’10 guy who can consistently drop 3s and maintain a B average at a top school is still choosing Duke. Maybe one day Vanderbilt basketball can get these unicorns, but that day is not today.

I think Vanderbilt is popular because of its Ed acceptance rate and more test optional acceptance rate. I know a lot of students who got accepted in rd, but surprisingly got rejected at uva , umich and uc’s. And unc.

ND & Georgetown continue top Vandy with lots of DMV families.

Why would DMV kids go to Georgetown? Explore.

When I applied, Vanderbilt had much lower standardized scores than UVA and W&M. Times change.

You don't need to maintain a B average when you are only there for a semester.

Acceptance rate was 65% in 1993.

Ok not 1980 but still…really? 1993? 32 years ago?? By 2000, Vanderbilt’s acceptance rate was 32% and has been steadily dropping since. Yeah, times do change.

My freshmen daughter is there now and she’s thriving despite fitting none of the typical SEC southern criteria. She’s Navy ROTC, rushed a sorority, met incredible friends, works really hard, plays kind of hard too ☺️. What I’ve been most impressed with are her peers…..so driven, kind, self-motivated and just genuinely great people. We are only paying 20k for room and board so that’s great, but the total tuition is 98k. Insane. I will say she gets incredible 1:1 support and tutoring for anything she needs but I can’t imagine paying that much for any undergrad degree. We only saved for 45k a year and were adamant that either of us would take on debt and I’m really happy with the outcome that she decided to go ROTC.

ED acceptance rates can be misleading and it’s def not 30%. RD is under 5%
