I was leaving an airport in Boston the other night and I have never seen so many $60k plus cars in one lot. Maseratis, Jaguars, high end Teslas, BMW, Mercedes all top of the line. In between there was an occasional 40K car but it was hard not to notice. Who are these people? Even in a neighborhood of very expensive home I don’t see that many high end cars. Boston isn’t a showy place. Crazy

Actually, sounds like they have only Tesla an examption so they are just putting Tesla in the same category as other manufacturers. This seems reasonable (why would Tesla have an exemption in the first place?). Any new business model (and it can be for ANY product) could be locked out of business in a state because of this kind of lobbying. It hurts AMERICA because we cannot develop new models that are competitive. Any car company could decide to use Tesla's model for selling cars. Why should Tesla have to sell like other manufacturers? It is not reasonable at all. Do you want to continue to pay too much for your car? Tesla is not like everyone else. EV cars do not need the same infrastructure as ICE cars. Why penalize them for not having it? I would not vote for that governor if I lived in NY.

Rivian has the same model for selling EVs.

Every car maker has EV cars along with ICE and hybrid. Tesla which is currently failing shouldn’t be given special favors.

Elon had nothing to do with abortion, vaccines, abortion pills, etc. And Elon is totally against the tariffs. Elon made a huge mistake with DOGE, yes. But Tesla is a good company and striking out against it is not going to help with all that stuff (abortion, vaccines, abortion pills). You need to protest in front of the representatives in Congress. Elon cannot change them.

You cannot separate Elon from Tesla, no matter how much you try. You are suggesting that it is wrong for democrats to strike back but the alternative is to just lie down while the republicans do it to them. And I do believe that all the outrage at Elon that was directed towards Tesla is a big reason why he is leaving DC. I never participated in any of that, but I’m THRILLED he’s going to GTFO to concentrate on his businesses.

Exactly. Aside from Leon being a garbage human being, Tesla is a garbage company. They make meh EVs with poor build quality. FSD is never coming from Telsa. There are tons of better EVs out there without the tarnished brand and image. It’s a meme stock company with an insult stupid valuation that can’t decide what it’s going to be, but it ends up being bad at all of the things it tries.

People in DC are acting out of anger these days and I certainly understand that. But emotions are different from data and rationalization. The data on Tesla cars is pretty good. They have sold a lot of them (I think it was 1.9 million last year). They will continue to sell . . . have you driven the 2025 Y? It's a great car. Tesla is working on cars that will be less expensive as well. They are definitely not low quality cars. But I understand you are angry with Musk. He isn't the one making the cars. The people who design and build Teslas are doing a very good job. Some have been poached by other companies, but there is enough good talent still there.
