Once Dems control the WH again, will they refill all the FTEs Trump slashed?

It’s more that people if that AGE won’t be offered those jobs again. Because there were no layoffs for 30 years, most of the federal bureaucrats were old and lazy. Very easy to replace them with people who will work harder.

So far everyone I know personally who has been laid off is late 30s to early 50s. These are people in the prime of their careers. The older people who met MRA either left before Jan 20 or during the most recent rounds of VERA/VSIP.

The people getting RIF’d, falsely told they are poor performers, etc. are the ones at their peak and they are not coming back. I made the first round of cuts at my agency and am working with a foot out the door. As soon as I can find something else I’m gone and am emphatically telling younger people I know to never become a fed.

Setting aside the political for the moment: what is sad is seeing 30-something to 50-something being classed as too old. Tbings are so skewed.

Age discrimination is illegal.

Agreed but it is prevelant in IT / tech fields. There is a lot of coded language and thinking. I think other sectors didn’t experience it and didn’t see it as an actual issue.

99.5% of our civil servants couldn't name the 10 Amendments that make up the Bill of Rights.

Neither can Trump himself.

Bring back Garcia if he is still alive. Restart CFPB. Tear down the wall. Get rid of tariffs(which Biden didn't do in his term).

Why weren't you all for free trade in the past?

Trump turned the party of the American union worker into free trade fanatics.

What a world.

Just amazing how humans become empathetic when it happens to them.

This has been going on in IT world since 2000. The Bush Immigration Act of 1990 was passed to import millions of cheap foreign workers to keep US wages low and both parties keep expanding H1B and then created OPT out of thin air.

And whenever we complained, we get people pounding that you are stupid, lazy, worthless, why cant you compete with cheap foreign labor.

Just remember, they are not putting H1Bs in your cubes as you leave. They should be doing that to save money. Then you can feel the joy of watching a 26 year employee get fired and having an H1B in his cube the next week asking in broken English how to connect to the printer.

Maybe read a little folks. Maybe have compassion for US citizens being replaced by overwhelming immigration. Stop focusing on cheap iPhones.

Do we have to wait four years for our jobs to return or are they gone for good?

Maybe not gone for good, but gone for the foreseeable future.

Honestly, none of these feds are going to want to come back or will be able to come back. Once your scientific research is destroyed, it's destroyed and time to move on.

Younger people? Why go work for the federal government if there is no job stability, that is one of the few benefits of the federal workforce now.
