Setting aside the political for the moment: what is sad is seeing 30-something to 50-something being classed as too old. Tbings are so skewed. |
Agreed but it is prevelant in IT / tech fields. There is a lot of coded language and thinking. I think other sectors didn’t experience it and didn’t see it as an actual issue. |
Neither can Trump himself. |
Why weren't you all for free trade in the past? Trump turned the party of the American union worker into free trade fanatics. What a world. |
Just amazing how humans become empathetic when it happens to them.
This has been going on in IT world since 2000. The Bush Immigration Act of 1990 was passed to import millions of cheap foreign workers to keep US wages low and both parties keep expanding H1B and then created OPT out of thin air. And whenever we complained, we get people pounding that you are stupid, lazy, worthless, why cant you compete with cheap foreign labor. Just remember, they are not putting H1Bs in your cubes as you leave. They should be doing that to save money. Then you can feel the joy of watching a 26 year employee get fired and having an H1B in his cube the next week asking in broken English how to connect to the printer. Maybe read a little folks. Maybe have compassion for US citizens being replaced by overwhelming immigration. Stop focusing on cheap iPhones. |
Maybe not gone for good, but gone for the foreseeable future. |
Honestly, none of these feds are going to want to come back or will be able to come back. Once your scientific research is destroyed, it's destroyed and time to move on.
Younger people? Why go work for the federal government if there is no job stability, that is one of the few benefits of the federal workforce now. |
