Yes, they also under admit because they are worried about over enrollment. |
I don’t think it’s a drive to improve yield so much as over enrollment has caused housing issues in the recent past. That’ a very common reason for schools to under accept and then go to wait list early. |
| ^ they went test required. The TO kids can’t apply there anymore and had to pivot to the few left TO. |

Tineo College Prep reporting on more weightless movement today:
UCLA GW UMiami Purdue URichmond |
How does he know? |
Ask him? Read about his collection methods |
| My son got off of Northeastern yesterday. Engineering for London Scholars. |
No, not common! Last year was really off because they extended SIR deadline due to issues with revised FAFSA to May 15th so waitlist movement happened after that, but most years it is a week or so after May 1st. It may also have to do with budget crisis in CA and UC's getting funding cut or deferred to upcoming years, so they need more out of state students who pay more in tuition. |
He just reads reddit and college confidential. “I’m seeing” is his way of saying he has no actual contacts in admissions. |
I definitely take what he says with a grain of salt. He has said there was in state movement at Va Tech, for example, when CC clearly indicated it was all OOS. |
You fill out a form on his website. My kid used him to look at activities list way back about a year ago. He was actually really helpful with feedback. |
| Again this morning, more movement for the UCLA waitlist, OOS |
Three days in a row of waitlist acceptances for UCLA? Is that unusual? |
| I would guess it’s filling in for international students. My kid is going to UCLA and not seeing many posts from international students on the class of 2029 insta. |
Okay? We’re saying he doesn’t have any inside information about waitlists. He’s just reading reddit and Facebook groups and the like. |
