| Today the UCLA waitlist is moving! |
I think it was a rumor. Brown was real though: https://www.reddit.com/r/ApplyingToCollege/comments/1k07lw4/accepted_off_the_waitlist_to_brown/ |
| Wow is it normal for the UCLA (and other UC schools) to move before May 1? |

There's a good thread on "Why are WL moving early this year" on reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ApplyingToCollege/comments/1k1vf4q/why_are_schools_accepting_off_the_waitlist_so/ Indicating the early movement is due to: - Internationals being scared off - The shotgunning of 15+ schools leaves many holes - Overenrollment in the past few years has led many schools to under admit in RD so they have better control over yield The Reddit thread also says in addition to brown, nyu etc, Cornell and uchicago have moved too. |
|
These schools under admitted this year. For example, Brown admitted 100+ less than last year. They are clearly trying to get yield up (because yield is keep to rankings.)
The waitlist "movement" has been super small at these schools. Like 5 kids. It's not droves. |
