If it's poison, and the handmaids are forced to eat it too, they're dead. If it's sleep-inducing, and the handmaid's have to eat it, they take a nap and live to fight another day. Also, since you brought it up, heat and most poisons don't tend to mix well, and timing a poison that isn't immediate is hard to calculate, especially in a baked good. There are plenty of things that'll make you sleepy that could hide well in a cake. Just sayin'... |
Lawrence went out like the G he's been the whole time. Sad, but not surprising. I'm annoyed that people are crying over Nick, who got on that plane like a smug betch and deserved what he got. Like you said: he chose. Poorly. Good riddance. |
Yes, agreed. Bye bye, Nick! |
I kinda loved Aunt Lydia for getting her lick in at the last minute. Wasn't expecting her to be all-in, but she really did get it. |
That was a great moment. I’m assuming she won’t be in The Testaments, then? |
I don't have any desire to live in a dystopian future, but if I happen to, can we be friends? |
No, she will be. |
YUP. Both had the opportunity to fight against what they helped create. Only Lawrence took up the mantle. I do think Lawrence had to die for full redemption, though. Died a war criminal (repentant, but still a war criminal) but will be remembered as a martyr. |
Huh. I’m going to have to suspend my disbelief that she didn’t destroy her standing and her cover in Gilead by being almost hanged as a traitor and publicly condemning the Commanders. I mean, I know Gilead doesn’t have the Internet and live media coverage, but surely the Boston Commanders kept DC in the loop about what was going on and who they captured? Apparently not. |
That was a great episode. This show still has it.
Lawrence getting on the plane was truly touching. Badass Darcy Carden as Ava was giving me life. LOVED that bit. A fitting ending for Nick. I was very worried they were going to pull their punches and have June run to him. How many episodes left? |
Just one more episode. |
The Testaments happens concurrent with the timeline the show is in. There will be some wonkiness - mainly because Hannah and Nicole/Holly are supposed to be much closer in age and Holly is a big part of the book. |
Bradley whitford is just such a good actor. He always seems to have better written lines too. I sometimes wonder if they have different writers for different characters or if the actors can adjust their lines a bit. |
Really? I HATED this episode. Should have been the most exciting and was so boring and underwhelming. And more extreme and unnecessary close ups of Elisabeth Moss. I can always tell when she directs an episode. |
I want Serena to die a painful death. Women complicit in subjugating other women is a special kind of evil.
