Is this your way of telling everyone you've never actually watched an NFL game or, and, really don't know anything about a sports but lov to pretend you do? |
Calm down ECNL lifer. Stop posting just to start trouble. The GA topic is living rent free in your head. Get over it. ECNL is yesterday. NWSL will soon announce partnership with GA so grab a box of tissues and just breathe. |
Confirmed. TSJ and Alexandria are the feeder clubs for Washington Spirit. Game over, ECNL hats. BINGO! |
| Two of the worst clubs in this area, puhleeeeze they can partner with deez nutz and will always invite the most talented players in the area just like DCU does with the boys no matter their club affiliation |
The Spirit better hope the NWSL doesn't implement a relegation system or they will be playing in the Mid-Atlantic Regional League, or something like that. |
When local girls are going to Gotham FC for NWSL, you know that Washington Spirit doesn't care about local talent. |
Come on, out with it. We know you want to tell everyone about your daughter. |
| I’m a GA fan going back to old FCV, but I don’t see how anyone can be happy about having so many GA teams in the DMV. U13 is when the girls are supposed to finally get to break away from playing against the same teams they’ve been playing ad nauseam since U8, but with the explosion of GA clubs in this area it’s now going to continue for another 6 years! |
| Gotham made a concerted effort to scout ECNL national events and invited girls from all over. There are no homegrown rules in NWSL so this is brilliant use of scouting dollars by them. Why only scout the college game, we all know the college game sucks, so get them as HS students and see who is physically and mentally prepared to consider becoming a professional. Spirit will get there but partnering with TSJ and Alexandria are simply to geographic anchor points to have talent IDs thats it. |
And it makes people in the local community "feel good." It's certainly a source of good will dollars. |
+1 |

Spirit’s partner history with local youth clubs is a record of failures, both for the local clubs and their youth players. Spirit will extract a lot of money and power from these clubs while making big public splashes to create FOMO of missing pro scouting “opportunities.”
Mmm-kay. Good luck with that! |
| Wasnt Metro the old spirit partner, how did that go? |
When Washington Spirit decided to give $30 million to us soccer for the national team, then you knew that they weren't interested in homegrown players. |
What is with all this playing against different teams? whatever league you move into, you end up, guess what???? Playing against the same teams!!! |
