GA is the new CCL

Nova returning to a CCL league club roster faster than you can say futbol.

What’s wrong with having all the local clubs in one league?

What makes you think GA is the new CCL? Because Alexandria got GA? Just be in a good team that can make national playoffs. The rest does not matter.

Well said.

Ehhhh only one team from this area in GA makes it. So which of the 7 nova teams is the lucky playoff team assuming MD teams aren’t any good of course. It’s a regional league just like CCL with national showcases though to travel and get blasted by teams that are in markets no where near as saturated as this one. Fewer teams + more competition = better teams. That is not the current Nova GA reality

And with only 3 ECNL teams, they should all be contenders

It's cute, or nauseating, how ASA parents think/make everything is about their kids club.

Someone is beginning to get it. ECNL was already consumer recognized better product and with less teams now in NOVA- you are lying to yourself if its not your child's goal to make one of those three teams. This doesn;t mean you are not good if you don't. GA is a wonderful platform for the 4th best goalie who wants to play and not split halves. GA is ideal for undersized technical players to get mins. GA could be better for the 5th best striker in NOVA to ensure you are featured and scoring goals. Find your fit, but please end the argument that ECNL is dying because of GA's growth this spring. They are closer to the new CCL with no threat of taking customers from those 3 ECNL teams, trust.

Keep adding clubs in NOVA GA you are just making the 3 ECNL clubs more exclusive and thus more attractive for competitve players to play together for the chance to not get spanked out west each June.

Poster above is a classic daddy with the ECNL hat. You are forgetting about all the boys wanting to play in MLSN, and GA partnered with them. Clubs won’t be able to sustain the migration on the boys side long term, and eventually will have to switch as well.

For the record my dd plays ECNL. But you have to see it for what it is.

Except that only 1 of these 3 ECNL teams are playoff material

I’ve learned that playing for a coach you like is more important than a badge.

Kid with Bad Coach at ECNL is not going to get as develop nearly as well than with a good coach in GA. That said, yes, if kid likes decent coach in ECNL, certainly put ECNL first. Bottom table teams should be avoided no matter the badge unless you know of a coaching change. Good coaches can turn around bad teams. Sometimes bad coaches can have very good teams.

Anyway, nothing wrong with GA if your kid LOVES the coach and atmosphere, unless it is a bottom table team. Top GA Playoff teams will get just as much exposure as top ECNL teams IF GA team is also in Champions Cup. Outside of that, ECNL will have more exposure to college coaches.

Coach>Badge

Undersized? Have you seen Pedri or Gavi play? Supersized idea is only in the US (by the way Pulisic is the best in US). The day the system figures out the undersized technical players, they will win the World Cup. Same applies to women’s soccer

What are you on about? The USWNT has a good mix of bigger, more powerful women and smaller women. I think the women's game at the highest level here does it correctly. Unfortunately, this doesn't fit your narrative of only teams with small players is the best way forward. I'm sorry your child is genetically challenged.
