| Potomac is going GA. They just were announced as Aspire. |
| Good thing FutDam told us they were taking ECNL from Bethesda. |
| That is not exciting. Too bad. |
dang he got the vision wrong smh |
|
GA Aspire was their high tier league? Sounds about right. LOL
|
| So will this mean more competition for places on top Potomac teams during this year’s tryouts? |
GA Aspire? Be carefulz the keyword is Aspire. Similar to Coke and Diet Coke lol. |
I can’t see GA Aspire making a huge difference. The leagues are shifting around but current Aspire is setting up in MD/PA to be no different than EDP of years past. I just don’t get a big draw to play PPA and 2nd teams from SAC, Celtic, Coppermine, PA Classics, Keystone etc. Or the NoVa teams. Potomac used to play the same teams (amongst others) in EDP. It’s all so diluted with ECNL and GA both have two tiers. It’s just poaching what what was CCL, EDP etc. It’s the same thing just reshuffling and different league names and a constant merry go round of youth soccer. |
| Meh |
| Multi-year plan by Potomac to get full GA membership. Sure Aspire doesn’t move the needle that much now but if success at the Aspire level allows for full GA that would be a huge upgrade and allow them to compete with the Bethesda’s of the world. ECNL>GA now but likely won’t be forever. Play the long game. |
Let's hope you are right |
Visions are merely kernels of truth, he could still be right. GA taking over the market from ECNL would have the same outcome as taking ECNL from Bethesda. Think about it |
The long game was also supposed to be using ECNL boys to get into ECNL girls. Will GA Aspire be enough to keep the strongest players in the pipeline from leaving or to attract girls from other clubs to move to Potomac? otherwise, this is just another chapter in the struggle for relevance on the girls side. |

It still can be. Success in Aspire gives them a better shot at GA and ECNL. Doesn’t hurt to have options. Baby steps can lead to substantive change if all goes well. |

90% of potomac's girls teams are weak in competition.
the top players of that 10% girls team that are performing will go elsewhere soon or later. |
