Potomac Girls joining new "high tier" league?

Potomac is hinting that the girl's side will be adding a new high tier league so the "other club" won't be the only game in town when it comes to progression and college scout visibility. They are saying that the announcement will be coming out shortly, but they can't share which league it is yet.

Anyone have any idea what it might be, I feel like if it was ECNL, there would already have been rumors about it. Anyway, just putting it out there in case someone has any more info.

I know for sure that they are joining the Chesapeake League, which is like the ECRL but team-based. I believe that they applied for the ECRL as well.

yes that is correct, and they are clearly acknowledging that. However, they are also saying they are joining another high level league and will make the official announcement in the next month. Implying this will be at least "notionally" comparable to ECNL level (but not specifying if it's ECNL or something else).

It's all a marketing ploy, these clubs are a business and they are in business to make money.

They did the same thing a few years back with CCL then CCL 2

The bottom line is this. If your kid is good enough to get a scholarship, you re going to prepay in in club fees and travel and the club is making a lot of money off of you,

Sure, but I am still curious what league they are joining. It will be interesting to see if BSC gets some competition for higher tier players from Potomac.

Most kids are playing club for scholarship. They play to play in college.

Most kids are playing club for scholarship. They play to play in college.

that answer makes no sense since the "they" in the original comment were not kids
