While that is an unusual looking credit card ๐ณ for a straight Male to carry around - I wouldnโt call it a dealbreaker. However if it truly bothers you then that is your right. After all > one cannot help the way that they feel about something, right?? |
Thanks for the laugh ๐ |
I would guess over 90% of the Amex clients who choose that card are women, 9% gay men, <1% straight men. |
| I kind of live that card. Running off to see if I can exchange my plain Amex for that one. |

Guy here, Iโd check the box for the flower card reissue, easy.
He might not have been embarrassed about the card just the extra attention all at the same time, sometimes when people are bashful too much at once will shut them down and theyโll say anything to move the conversation along. Itโs not about his masculinity, itโs not about not owning the situation itโs just about too much attention at once, more of a processing issue. Next you will get the ick from the way he twirls his spaghetti or fall towel, so please, if he happens to ask you out again politely decline and spare him the misery. |

I have that card and love it. But, you do have to actively choose it, and there are other options. If you are at all environment-minded, this is a fine card to have, not sure why he was embarrassed about it.
But OP, you don't know why he was embarrassed either. If his embarrassment is bothering you, why not ask him about it? Maybe he grew up poor and is embarrassed to have a Platinum card. Maybe it's attached to his mom's card and she accidentally ordered all the same when she meant to ket the kids basic cards (in which case you may be dating my college kid). Maybe he's shy and isn't comfortable with a chorus of compliments over something so material. |
| He could have a my little pony prepaid visa, i don't care as long as the payment clears and its actually his name on it so there is no fraud LOL!! |
My son is 15 so no lol |
๐๐๐ Now I want a my little pony credit card!! |
| So now many.need to make sure the form of payment they use is on trend or not offensive? FFS |
| It's a safe bet that the person using the phrase "gave me the ick" is the real problem in the situation. This thread is case-in-point. |
+1 |
| This can't possibly be real. |
| You sound nuts. |
Imagine your date not thinking of it as silly nostalgia but immaturity. |
