Cuomo would remind everyone of our terrible behavior—closing schools, mandating masks, trying to get people fired, being cruel to our own neighbors and family members—and would remind everyone that we never apologized for ANY of it. Most of us secretly still believe we helped save the world by working from home. By 2028, hopefully swing voters will have forgotten to some extent. But not if we bring in Cuomo. He’s a poster child for Covid protocols. Lockdowns, daily briefings, and even…killing granny by commanding that active Covid infections be transferred to nursing homes. He’s triple threat!

Not sure what we have to apologize for. Mask mandates and lockdowns made sense before vaccines were rolled out. Ridiculous that idiots hav3 turned basic public health measures into evils because of “my freedoms!” Typical of Americans to put their own convenience ahead of the public good.

He has the tough guy persona and charisma that Democrats are completely lacking right now. He also has great political instincts and is not going to hitch his wagon to any unpopular, unworkable ideology for the sake of purity.

I know he was Me Tooed out of office and I thought he deserved that. I am not even going to touch the pandemic issues. But right now, today, leaving aside personal dislike of the man, I think he could win over swing voters. I also think he could help Democrats address the male voter problem. He is probably the only male Democrat right now who embodies the virile man's man and isn't faking it unconvincingly.

Can anyone picture JD Vance or even prime 2016 Trump getting the last word on Cuomo in a debate?

Thoughts?

I can't stand him, but you may be right.

Politicians, executives, and leaders of any kind turn into feeble-minded know-it-all jerks when transitioning from their 60s to their 70s. Cuomo will never again be the Cuomo you remember from 2020 and prior. Too old. We've just experienced with out most recent two clown presidents.

This upper middle class liberal attitude is ballot box poison. And so smug, ignorant, and unscientific. We virtue signalers really are all about the Narrative, and ignorant of the science we claim to “f**king love.” We should look up the well-established pandemic protocols from the decades up til 2019. Did the WHO say countries should, or shouldn’t: do lockdowns, social distancing, school closures, masking, or vaccinations during a pandemic? The protocols strictly stated NOT to do ANY of those things. Until they were changed for the Covid Op, right after Event 201. Does this PP have ANY idea what he or she is talking about? No. His or her “science came from politicians and journalists, and was utterly devoid of any context, any sense of history. This person even apes tje communist complaint that “freedom” ideas made people less safe. Pathetic. If you don’t know anything, you shouldn’t be proud of being a Karen to others. Next time read more and talk less. And after the vaccine fails, maybe don’t proudly pat yourself on the back. Dems are insufferable these days. No Covid apologizes means no more lection victories.

You’re a clown moron. Every epidemiological study has shown mortality rates due to COVID decreased among vaccinated populations. The vaccine was, and remains, safe. So sorry that science offends you, but some of us don’t lap up the Fox News BS.

Me-too issues aside, he’s high-maintenance and awful.

It doesn’t matter what you think, it matters what voters think. And Democrats’ ideas about how successful the Covid response was are very unpopular with non-Democrats.

OP here. Yes, I know he's a bad guy from the moral standpoint. I am not talking about that. I am talking about whether or not he can win.

Sure, maybe he could get in the last word in a debate with JD. But Kamala mopped the floor in the debate with Trump. Didn't get her elected.

She didn't mop the floor with Trump in the way that mattered, honey. Do any of you know people who aren't passive aggressive white or white-adjacent liberals? Most of the country isn't impressed by Aaron Sorkin-type snippy comebacks delivered with a haughty glare. It was clear she took Trump seriously and was seeking to engage with his points. Big mistake. Trump doesn't come off as having any respect whatsoever even for the idea of the person he's debating, much less for anything the other person is saying. Cuomo has that same contemptuous "you see this buffoon? lemme talk over them" type of Fight Club approach that's what the country likes right now.

Dp. You don't have to be patronizing "honey"

They want him too. Even though he would be older than Biden

NP. This. I am tired of having to argue about this. I am for freedom of choice, which means let those who want to dwell in their universe be, as long as I am not forced to abide by their ridiculous rules and delusions. Cuomo has zero chance.

(1) he was a lousy governor, and badly mismanaged the early stages of the Covid crisis. He was also renowned for petty, vindictive behavior. By the time he resigned he was widely unpopular in NY.
(2). He’s from NY - probably the only state in the Union less popular with moderate voters than California.

Well said.

Cuomo aside, freedom of choice makes zero sense during a public health crisis. Sometimes you have to sacrifice for the common good. The alternative is simply selfishness.

Those sentiments are why Democrats lost control of the government to Trump. Democratic Covid Karenism was brutal fir Dems. Voters used to trust Dems more on education. Not anymore.
