He has the tough guy persona and charisma that Democrats are completely lacking right now. He also has great political instincts and is not going to hitch his wagon to any unpopular, unworkable ideology for the sake of purity.

I know he was Me Tooed out of office and I thought he deserved that. I am not even going to touch the pandemic issues. But right now, today, leaving aside personal dislike of the man, I think he could win over swing voters. I also think he could help Democrats address the male voter problem. He is probably the only male Democrat right now who embodies the virile man's man and isn't faking it unconvincingly.

Can anyone picture JD Vance or even prime 2016 Trump getting the last word on Cuomo in a debate?

Thoughts?

Cuomo would be over 70 years old if starting a first POTUS term in 2029. Have we not yet learned our lesson regarding the inherent risks of electing 1st term presidents over the age of 70?

Do you have an ideal age range in mind?

45 to 65 is an age range where we've found our most qualified, prepared and fit leaders. It's possible for an individual to be qualified and prepared to serve as POTUS a few years before the age of 45 and it's possible to assume someone to be mentally and physically fit enough to serve as POTUS a few years after the age of 65.

No way in heck is an individual who would be starting a 1st term as POTUS at an age over 70 our best option in a very powerful country of 340 million people.

Just stop boxing us in.

Suggesting that 45-65 is the likely age range for where we'll find the most fit and qualified candidates to serve as leaders of the most powerful country in the world is a simple common sense conclusion based on human science and historical reference. This doesn't mean there should be a box eliminating someone 42 yrs old or 68 yrs old from consideration.

Suggesting that someone the age of 35 or the age of 80 is just as likely to be as fit and qualified as those in the 45 to 65 age range is complete nonsense.

Brief assessment of our three oldest presidents... Reagan- family and former staff have acknowledged the impacts of early stage dementia during his second term. Biden- disastrous final year in office that led to fair questions regarding his mental health and a collapse of his re-election campaign that gifted a second term to our worst president ever. Trump- worst president ever.

Look around you and wake up. We need someone who can appeal to voters, age/race/gender do not matter.

^ cuomo is a seasoned capable politician from a political family. He knows what he’s doing. Frankly I felt that way about Biden too. As diminished as he was, he knew how to govern and surround himself with capable people. I’d much rather have that than a younger candidate who doesn’t know what they’re doing. Not that I’m comparing cuomo to Biden. They are seemingly worlds apart in terms of physical health.

News Flash:
Most of us Americans are done with the massive corruption schemes perpetrated by political dynasties. Cuomo doesn’t have a chance realistically.

News flash. Your coastal opinion means nothing. And what ‘massive corruption scheme’ was perpetrated by Cuomo? Genuinely curious.

^ you are exactly what’s wrong with the Dem party. Non stop purity tests and identity politics. When will Dems ever learn?

Cuomo is not necessarily my #1 candidate right now but I certainly wouldn’t count him out because of some nothing burger ‘scandal’ nor would I count him out because of his age.

You’re some sort of crazy anti Dem troll. People like Cuomo.

What people are these? Cuomo is a micromanaging creep. A master manipulator and political animal. I really don't think he would have a chance.

You must be some paid anti cuomo shill. Or just clueless and argumentative. He announced he is running for mayor of NYC and people are thrilled. Go look at the comment section of the NYT article that ran when he announced. Post after post of New Yorkers immediately saying they’d vote for him (myself included- who up is up to the task of running NYC? Scott Stringer? Snort.).

Google Randy Rainbow Cuomo and you will see. People were swooning over him. He’s not perfect, but he’s got an IT factor

^ he entered the mayors race just two weeks ago and is already double digits ahead of others. Clearly people like him

I never though I'd actually be rooting for him after all he's done, but I am.

No way is Cuomo winning the nomination. I mean he has a better chance than Gavin Newsone but that’s not saying much

Slimy predator who resigned in disgrace under an avalanche of SA cases, but now with the added taint of association with a war criminal who will go down as the Hitler of the 21st century?

What’s not to like?!

You could run one ad saying he killed people’s grandparents in nursing homes during Covid, and wouldn’t even have to mention his sexual improprieties. The dude is a loser. If this is the best Democrats can come up with, guess we better all get ready for Trump volume 3 or for Vance.
