He has the tough guy persona and charisma that Democrats are completely lacking right now. He also has great political instincts and is not going to hitch his wagon to any unpopular, unworkable ideology for the sake of purity.
I know he was Me Tooed out of office and I thought he deserved that. I am not even going to touch the pandemic issues. But right now, today, leaving aside personal dislike of the man, I think he could win over swing voters. I also think he could help Democrats address the male voter problem. He is probably the only male Democrat right now who embodies the virile man's man and isn't faking it unconvincingly.
Can anyone picture JD Vance or even prime 2016 Trump getting the last word on Cuomo in a debate?
Thoughts?
Cuomo would be over 70 years old if starting a first POTUS term in 2029. Have we not yet learned our lesson regarding the inherent risks of electing 1st term presidents over the age of 70?
Do you have an ideal age range in mind?
45 to 65 is an age range where we've found our most qualified, prepared and fit leaders. It's possible for an individual to be qualified and prepared to serve as POTUS a few years before the age of 45 and it's possible to assume someone to be mentally and physically fit enough to serve as POTUS a few years after the age of 65.
No way in heck is an individual who would be starting a 1st term as POTUS at an age over 70 our best option in a very powerful country of 340 million people.
