So embarrassing. For them. No adults in the room over there, none.

How is it embarrassing for the governors? It’s embarrassing for Trump. He had the floor and he was the one talking. He embarrassed himself.

My guy, nobody except the extreme left thinks this. I am a Trump-hating, Harris-voting Democrat, and I know that this is an issue where Trump has very positive momentum behind him.

He is making Democrats double-down on a wildly unpopular position. People don’t like this. Voters don’t like this. It is a huge win for Trump and as a moderate Democrat who want us to win again some day, I am begging you to look clearly at this from outside this insane extreme left bubble.

I’m the PP you’re responding to. I literally could not care less about the trans issue. I was just shocked by the WAY he spoke to a governor. He actually initiated the exchange by calling on her, not the other way around, and he sounded like a bully and a thug. I’m just appalled by the low-class and completely undignified way he talks.

He spoke that way to make her appear extremist and it worked. He is dressing-down someone who is putting her own extremist, borderline religious viewpoints ahead of the welfare of her own state.

I agree it sounds and was awful and low-class, but that is exactly the point here. The Democrats struggled in the last election with a perception that they catered to an extremely far-left elitist social agenda. Trump was elected to repudiate that, in part. (And yes before you start screaming, we all know that he’s a corrupt billionaire, calm down. I am no Trump supporter, just a Democrat who wants to win again some day.)

So here you have this elitist governor putting her own far-left social agenda ahead of the welfare of her state and girls in her state specifically. In the normie 80% voter mind, he should be rude to her. He should be calling that out.

We have states rights. She doesn’t need to bed at the knee. This is exactly what Dems need to be doing rn. It’s not about issues, it’s about standing up to a bully president. Let’s forget about the issue, and focus on the President of the United State’s threat.

Oh my God. The Democrats are so doomed.

The Dems are the only ones in the US right now working to make sure we are NOT doomed.

As a Democrat, I can assure you that all I see is that the Democrats are working extremely hard to make sure there is not a Democrat in office for another 25 years. And it’s by doing nonsense like this.

You are 300% a troll who wants to see Dems finished off on the irrevocably toxic issue of transgender rights. Please continue. I don't mind it one bit as a former Democrat. They deserve to go down for this horrible men's rights agenda they got behind purely for power.

He asked Mills, who attended Friday’s event, whether she would direct her state to follow the order.

“I’m complying with state and federal law,” Mills responded.

“We are the federal law. You better do it because you’re not going to get federal funding,” said Trump.

“See you in court,” Mills said.

“Good, I’ll see you in court, I look forward to that. That should be a real easy one.”

“Enjoy your life after governor,” Trump added, “because I don’t think you’ll be in elected politics.”

How is this being a thug? He was at a governor's meeting and he asked a simple question. Of course the Trump administration is going to sue if a state doesn't comply. They'll win, too.

He was calling someone out—and note he picked a woman because he thinks they are weak and he is a bully— in a public setting. It was cjeatly done to instill fear in the other governors.

But, like Gov Hochul, Governor Mills will not be kowed. 💪

News flash: He really does not rule the world.

Thinking he can just declare what a body of water is called. What gender people are, who owns bodies of land.

Try to escape his delusion.

The country is with you! Democratic governors across the nation should fight hard on this issue.

Here’s the thing - if you bow to Trump on transgender rights, he’s going to come back and ask you to restrict the rights of women, then black people, then Asian, etc.

This is what he does. If you give an inch, he demands more.

My tax dollars are paying for this petty feeding of the man’s narcissism???

Seriously people, this cannot endure for four years.

Our country is so much better than this man and his circus of misfits.

It’s not about the Trans issue. It’s about the rule of law and standing up to a bully. The Maine governor is absolutely doing her job.

Title IX is the federal Law. Having men who identify as trans females, violates Title IX. Something women have fought for decades to get passed to give them equal access to the same sports men play. Allows trans athletes to play in women’s sports violates this federal law.

Mills and other women are betraying their gender by allowing men to compete in women's sports. They are sacrificing opportunities for women on the altar of their benightedness.

What??

Don’t you DARE tell women how to support each other.

The mansplaining is really beyond (and keep your laws off of my uterus)!

My HS daughter says keep boys out of women’s sports. She does not want to compete with a 6’5 transgender player on the basketball court. If that player really wants to play, go play with the male players.

Look, trans women in sports is just not a huge issue. It's not. And for the miniscule number of situations where it is, we can have a discussion about how to handle that humanely. This is not what is now happening. People are demonizing. You know how I know? A) This is not a huge issue and the "stink" made FAR outweighs the problem. And B) Almost no one on here can name 10 female athletes (someone else noted this). Thus, it's not about womens' sports. Most of you don't watch womens' sports. It's about transpeople and bigotry toward them. If you wanted a serious conversation about this, it can be had. And FTR, the hysteria on this is from the right. Not the left. The "working extremely hard" on this issue is the right. The left just wants you all to MYOFB and treat people like human beings. If that turns you off from being a dem, girl bye!
