So embarrassing. For them. No adults in the room over there, none.

How is it embarrassing for the governors? It’s embarrassing for Trump. He had the floor and he was the one talking. He embarrassed himself.

My guy, nobody except the extreme left thinks this. I am a Trump-hating, Harris-voting Democrat, and I know that this is an issue where Trump has very positive momentum behind him.

He is making Democrats double-down on a wildly unpopular position. People don’t like this. Voters don’t like this. It is a huge win for Trump and as a moderate Democrat who want us to win again some day, I am begging you to look clearly at this from outside this insane extreme left bubble.

I’m the PP you’re responding to. I literally could not care less about the trans issue. I was just shocked by the WAY he spoke to a governor. He actually initiated the exchange by calling on her, not the other way around, and he sounded like a bully and a thug. I’m just appalled by the low-class and completely undignified way he talks.

He spoke that way to make her appear extremist and it worked. He is dressing-down someone who is putting her own extremist, borderline religious viewpoints ahead of the welfare of her own state.

I agree it sounds and was awful and low-class, but that is exactly the point here. The Democrats struggled in the last election with a perception that they catered to an extremely far-left elitist social agenda. Trump was elected to repudiate that, in part. (And yes before you start screaming, we all know that he’s a corrupt billionaire, calm down. I am no Trump supporter, just a Democrat who wants to win again some day.)

So here you have this elitist governor putting her own far-left social agenda ahead of the welfare of her state and girls in her state specifically. In the normie 80% voter mind, he should be rude to her. He should be calling that out.

Well that did not take long….

Maine being investigated for Title IX violations.

DP. She needed an issue to get him to say he wouldn’t fund the state. That was the conversation. It could be any issue. States have rights and he can’t stop funding them on a whim. She stood up to him, unlike these spineless GOP.

Sigh. And thus that means she lost entirely. She picked an issue that portrays her as an extremist who will harm young girls rather than fund her own state. He can be as much of an obnoxious a$$ as he wants now, because she looks so extreme.

You have no idea how far to one side you are on this issue. I don’t think it’s even 80/20. I suspect it’s more like 95/5.

I’m a Dem and this is exactly my dead last issue. Though I have at least 8 friends with trans kids and I think they deserve protections. But, we need people to stand up to the felon. She did. Period. The end.

In the minds of voters who aren’t in the DCUM sealed bubble, he stood up to a cult-belonging elitist who is willing to tank her own state so a boy can beat a girl in a high school track meet.

Sometimes DCUM makes me want to bang my head against the wall. You people are so extremely out of touch.

We have states rights. She doesn’t need to bed at the knee. This is exactly what Dems need to be doing rn. It’s not about issues, it’s about standing up to a bully president. Let’s forget about the issue, and focus on the President of the United State’s threat.

This is a losing issue for the Maine Governor. Vast majority of women prefer not to have biological males who identify as females play in women’s sports. Also for males who identify as females to use female bathrooms.

WTF is she hoping to gain here? A majority of her state supports Trump on this issue..

He started it. Let’s not set a precedent. I think all voters, but especially Dems, should be celebrating that Dems are standing up to him while the GOP is silent. Tillis is scared of a death threat, so he can’t vote his conscience. Please. Look at the Dems.

It’s not about the Trans issue. It’s about the rule of law and standing up to a bully. The Maine governor is absolutely doing her job.

You have ZERO clue what you are talking about. Gov Mills is adhering to the STATE’s act re transgender athletes. It has ZERO to do with her own Agenda. Plus, have you met the Gov?! She is NOT an elitist! I’m laughing at that characterization. So, which is it MAGAs state’s rights or threats for following state law??? MAGA hasn’t a clue

Nobody except for a few extremists on the left are going to celebrate her. And that is absolutely awful, because frankly governors should be standing up to him. But he was very clever. He picked an issue where the governor is wildly out-of-step with the majority of the voters in her own state.

These demands that people just ignore the underlying issue are so clueless. That is simply not how politics works. He’s picked a states-rights battle on an issue where his position is extremely popular across the entire country. And she fell for it.

Sometimes DCUM makes me want to bang my head against the wall. You people are so extremely out of touch.

You're wasting your time talking to these people for whom partisanship and far-left lunacy are a religion. There is no Democrat policy too dangerous, repulsive, and unfair for the Democrats' base of pathologically narcissistic, power hungry, upper middle class leftists. They specialize in holding luxury beliefs that other people suffer for. I mean these are the kinds of thoroughly evil people who think it's acceptable to say "there aren't that many" in response to male rapists self-identifying into women's prisons to beat and rape vulnerable women under Democrats' policies. They are the far left equivalent of the evangelicals who think forcing a 9 year old to give birth is fine as long as they win the abortion issue.

This country has two dangerous groups of highly partisan, mentally ill, religious extremists fighting for control, and the best we can do at this point is use them to fight each other. The crazies on the right are going to beat back the Democrats' trans agenda for us and then the crazies on the left can tie up the Republicans' oligarchic agenda. That's as good as it gets right now.
