Only buying essentials and boycotting every company that bent a knee to this fascist kleptocracy.

Love to hear what "essentials" are. It must be exhausting to be a hysterical liberal.

Food and medicine. I am fortunate to have everything and more that I could possibly need or want.

Nothing exhausting about it. We fought fascism once before and kicked your ass. We’ll do it again.

So "food" is essential - are you down to beans and rice? What kind of foods are "essential"?

How do you know which companies "bent the knee"? Is there a list? Do you check it every day?

DP. Grow my own food and animals. Absolutely check which companies bent the knee and they will see not one red cent from us. I even check local businesses for maga donations.

Dude, are you the same person responding to all these posts? You seem incensed that federal workers find themselves upset at getting fired. Its a pretty normal reaction and not at all the worst of what is happening right now. A spending blackout is both a fair and functional reaction. We are also doing this, not out of any movement, just because everything is so uncertain.

Won’t the fans of Trump/Musk just shop more on that day?

1) I buy most basics at Trader Joes
2) I get meal delivery from a company with values that match my own
3) Yes, there are lists and this information is easy to find

It’s not complicated. You guys are so tiresome. Do you get paid to encourage apathy? We live in a capitalist society - our money talks. If you want to support a fascist kleptocracy, go for it. I don’t. And won’t.

Nah, just wanted to get an idea of how much time and energy you all put into this. Enjoy your ponitless economic stand.

Can we get metrics spelled out today, BEFORE this boycott so there's an accurate measure if it worked or not... and something that can't be changed after the fact. Something measurable, OP.

One day brings awareness. It needs to be done as much as possible to truly being change. Do whatever you can whenever you can. It all adds up and it all matters.

It will make a point. This is the financial impact that one group of people on one day can have on profits. If one group of people can do this on one day, think about the impact of an even larger group of people over an even longer period of time.

Most businesses should also be thinking about the impact of the Fed cuts. Fewer families with disposable incomes will mean less discretionary income. This will hit many types of businesses that were already hit hard by COVID. Hospitality, travel, fun clothing, recreation — all will take a hit. And it’s possible that Trump’s tariffs — if he implements them — will make things a lot worse.

Do you really think neither of you is capable of obtaining a job? Did you expect a lifetime sinecure?

Oh look at you and your big words. I thought you Republicans hated education.

So when people lose their jobs all at once in several industries as the nation spirals economically, do you always dispense such useful advice? Let me guess, you’re the person who tells someone who is depressed to “just be happy, duh!”

I’m in a dual fed family with a more than sufficient family support and individual savings to weather this.

And we’re still spending very carefully right now, and still making sure our money talks.

Costco has better deals and I agree with their values. There’s not a lot of reason to spend more to fund bigotry.

A day gives businesses the opportunity to view the impact on their bottom line.

So, no measures of effectiveness?
