This thread has me thinking about name popularity and ages.
I made a spin off thread in off topic with a game about friend group names and high school graduation year. |
| My name is an uncommon spelling of a popular name in the 80s-90s. I like the name but not the fact that it gets misspelled all the time. I wish my parents had gone with the more conventional spelling. |
My son was one of 5 Andrews in his kindergarten class. There were 3 other kindergarten classes and none of them had Andrews. This was during peak Jayden/Brayden/Hayden era, too! |
I knew Nikki at school who was a major B. She blew up, her hair turned gray, and she's a middle school teacher now. |
| I’m an Elizabeth who goes by Liz. Absolutely love my name! |
I feel similarly about my name, Dana. People have heard of it, almost always know how to pronounce and spell it, it sounds OK, and until I was 50, I never personally knew another Dana. I think it's kind of a sweetspot for names, actually, and I looked for similar types of names when I named my own kids (with mixed success). (I like Bridget too!) |
| Original name Linda, I changed it to Lindsay in college. |
| The most common female name of my FB friends is Karen/Karin. I love it. It is my sister's name and it's the middle name of both my daughters. One is Karen and the other is Karin. |
Shout it from the rooftops! It is my favorite name, due to my fave loving aunt and my 2 best friends Karen. |
From "Friends"? |
Yeah but if you’re a woman, you have maybe gotten job interviews you otherwise would not have! |
|
My name is not unusual but it’s pretty uncommon so I won’t say it here. It’s fine. I liked that it was unusual but not complicated for anyone. It’s a bit dated, though and not the prettiest name.
I always wanted to be Catherine so I could go by Cat. I think that suits me better. |
