Mine is somewhat common in the home country of a parent and was the name of a well-known movie star both here and abroad. But I hate it and can’t stand either the native or American pronunciation. I much prefer either my maiden or married surname and would’ve loved being in a military setting where most went that. I hated my given middle name even more and was happy to see it go when I got married.
I wanted to be a “Laura”. Oh well. Fun thread (except for the spoil-sport PP). |
