| Jennifer and no, obviously. |
| Megan, no. I was neutral about it growing up but it has become Karenesque meaning the only people with the name now are middle aged women and we’re perceived as high maintenance and irritating. |
| Larla. I wear it as a badge of honor |
| I have an old fashioned name that isn't that common- only 2 in my school at most- but I don't like it, never have, tried to change to my also disliked middle name but failed. I gave my DS an ethnic to go with his last name. I hope he likes it! |

Neither Jennifer nor Megan bothers me in any way. I have several friends with both names. Yes, they show you are a 40 something year old woman. But guess what, you are! So who cares?
Being insecure about your name is a waste of energy. Also has nothing to do with general parenting. |

I have a name that was uncommon in the 80s/90s when I was growing up (Emma) but super common now. I liked it then and now.
FWIW, I think Jennifer is a lovely name and Jenny is an adorable nickname. |
| Lyndsay. I've always loved my name and the spelling. |
|
I love the name Jennifer, nn Jenny, Jen.
I have a name I like a lot, but it was only used for a nanosecond at a certain time, so instantly dates me. I don't love that. |
| Robert, and it's fine. |
OP- I am in my 50s so I guess being assumed to be 40 something is a positive. |
Aww. Two of my very favorite people are named Megan. I bet I would like you, too. |
Ariel?!
|
| Karen. I've always liked it. Still do, despite everything, but it does get annoying on forums now. |
I’m 55 and I knew you were, too! |

Kathe, pronounced Kay-tuh
I was named after the artist Käthe Kollwitz because my parents are big fans and collect her works. I like the name when I'm in home in Switzerland because people know how to pronouce it. But because I live in the DMV half the year, I also get called "Cathy" which is ACK! |
