Only because the original hiring was discriminatory. |
We were told that a proper signature block should include pronouns |
I have friends at several agencies. Some agencies directed their employees to include pronouns and other agencies did not. |
This. Although I have colleagues who put it in their signature block; I did not. |
So hiring anyone who isn’t white is discrimination |
Wow I am surprised about that. Was that in writing? |
Which agencies did? You should be able to say. |
| My agency must have had some inside information because last fall they changed the name of the DEI office to EEO. |
The courts will uphold these terminations. They’re based on the work division- not targeting individuals. |
Our signature templates were updated to include it |
That is not “forcing” anything |
Anyone? Of course not. But if you ONLY hire people who aren’t white… |
They will. My guess is it’s to work out issues such as distinguishing between which offices also handle EEO and other responsibilities so they make sure they leave staff for those types of duties and don’t give the optics to the courts or the public that they’re eliminating these duties. |
Same. Only about 30% of my coworkers complied. Let them waste their time chasing us. |
This. I don’t want to see anyone lose their job but these positions were tenuous. My DH (a fed) had encouraged me to apply to some at one point because I’m a minority and the jobs were such a boondoggle. I never applied because I realized it was a temporary trend. Plus, I overheard a number of DH’s “trainings” and yikes. Some were good but many I would not want to be associated with. |
