I’m a federal employee whose job has nothing to do with DEI, but this OPM memo really has me freaked out. If I was OK with having so little job security, I would have stayed in the private sector.

At my agency just one, but there may be others outside of this immediate office.

DEI sucks and on January 21, 2021 they were forcing us to declare our pronouns in emails and meetings.

Pathetic an EO is required to not require nonsense like pronouns and say discriminatory comments at work, but here we are.

It’s pretty much exactly the type of office that brought so much negative attention to DEI programs. You need 16 people to figure out how to hire more minorities? Come on now.

No they weren’t.


No one was ever forced, but there was a strong push for it and those who didn't may have looked bad to their peers. It's silly and I am glad it's on the downswing.

I wonder how many acting heads are going to quit rather than send out those memos.
I honestly can’t see the person acting at my agency sending that out - she’s just the last one standing and as far as I can tell totally non-political.


The acting heads are named by the Trump administration, not volunteers or put into place by the previous administration. The remarkable thing about the transition is that they had all the acting heads identified and ready to roll. They will carry out the executive orders. The AH at your agency may seen totally non-political, and that may actually mean someone who kept her mouth shut in the last four years but privately supports removing DEI and is willing to work with the new administration. There will be plenty of people like her. I'm no Trump fan but even I see the problems with the excesses of many of the Biden Administration DEI policies.
