I suspect Catelynn's mom is a drug addict - either actively using or in recovery -- and addicts have twisted ways of thinking and acting. It would be best if Catelynn stop trying to get support from her mom emotionally over giving the baby up for adoption. |

| Gary really should get full custody of Leah, especially if Amber picks up random child molesters to date at the local Wal-mart. And she's abusive. She is the worst one on the show. I can't believe Gary apologized and gave her flowers in the last episode. What did he do wrong? She beat on him and doesn't even admit she did anything wrong. |

These people really need counseling. Farrah and her mom go and it seems productive (or at least the sound bytes the MTV camera crew record) so I think it would help Amber and Gary to communicate effectively. It looks like Maci is getting a tough lesson in life - living on her own (although how do she afford rent if she took the summer off from work?), not following her parents' advice to foolishly follow Kyle (with no back up plan), finding out that things are aren't that they seem, etc. If I were Tyler and Catelynn I would spend as little time as possible with Catelynns mom - either working my tail off at a job (although not sure what's available without a HS diploma) or going doubling up on school to get a HS diploma...anything to get out of that house. |

It is recorded that each couple on the "Team Mom" episodes, split a total of $150,000; which makes it a total of $75,000/person/episode. On top of this Huggies provides full care and a budget for: clothes, shoes, school, and accessories. Each one of the participants also have college paid for and college securities set back for their children on the behalf of MTV.
I found this online. I doubt it's that much per episode. |

I almost couldn't watch the scenes with Amber's new "boyfriend" after I heard what he was convicted of. Why would she let some random guy move in with her when she has a kid, let alone a guy who was convicted of child molesting?
The scenes with Catelynn and Tyler were so sweet. I love them! |

I think I have Gary and Amber's relationship figured out: Amber feels trapped with an overweight baby's daddy who can't provide her the things she wants. Her self esteem is improved since she lost weight and she now believes she deserves better because she's 'cute.' Before, she may have felt she couldn't do better than Gary, now she feels like she is settling. She had high aspirations, wanted to continue her education, and can't. She is angry because she is feeling trapped.
Gary has his head in the clouds. He has all the pieces of a family, he is trying to pretend he can make them fit together. Even with no job, and an abusive girlfriend, he tries to make things right by apologizing when he's done nothing wrong. |

Although I hate to take up for Amber, Gary is no gem. I think he provokes her sometimes. He can be very childish, although no one deserves to get "choked out" all the time.
I think we don't see the complete picture with their relationship. |

Ugh, I saw that episode last night. I wanted to punch Alex in the face, right in his stupid mustache. What is wrong w/ these girls that they are with such worthless guys? I know 16 year olds aren't known for having the best judgement, but this is just too painful to watch.
I am already practicing my speech to my still non-existant daughter about not letting worthless young men put their penises in her!! |
