Does anyone watch Teen Mom?

One thing that always struck me with the show, besides all the obvious, was how each of them loaded their kids cribs with blankets, toys, bottles, etc. to the point where there was barely room for the baby. I'd find myself cringing whenever they showed it. Oh, and on one episode with Amber, the carseat was clearly not strapped in and it was bouncing all over the place. ARRGH!

I'm impressed at how mature Catelynn and her boyfriend are. They did the best for themselves and that baby by giving it up for adoption. They know how to handle their ridiculous parents. They know how to handle their relationship with so much maturity for being teenagers. Very impressed with them.

If I had a teenager, tween whatever...I'd totally be watching this with them and discussing! I'm sure this gives them a perspective that they aren't thinking about clearly.

I agree! They are just adorable, sweet people. I hope their daughter's Parents are taping the show to show their child when she's older. She will appreciate seeing how much they love her. They are raised in total trash. Tyler is so different from his Father and such a loving partner. It's hard for me to believe that they can grow up and be functional adults and remain so sweet, but I really hope that they do. Sometimes they just make me want to cry.

I actually don't mind Amber and Gary as parents. Not really about them, but I think Leah is adorable. Maci does seem to be the most "talented" at Parenting. She just seems to get it. She knows how to step up. My assumption is that she had the best family. She has a lot of support from her Parents. I don't think she's being stupid about moving away. It's only a couple of hours, she's still going to go to school.....and she's not moving in with the boyfriend. Farrah is a spoiled brat. She was horrible to her Mother and I almost can't blame her Mom for losing it. I think she is growing up though and it was a good thing overall that she had to get out of the house. I do feel horrible for her though. She has been through a lot.

OMG, I was going to post this question. Every time I watch this show I feel like crying after it's over (maybe because I'm pregnant). I am also very impressed by how much more mature Catelynn is than her mom. She doesn't even respond or get into it when her mom just goes off on her for no reason. I think it's an absolute miracle that those two decided on adoption. It's amazing to me. I wanted to smack her mom during last night's episode, but I think somewhere deep down she realizes she gave her kids a crappy life, but she can't deal with it and instead is sort-of defensive. Butch is another train wreck parent.

Gary and Amber drive me crazy with their yelling. They should not get married.

Farrah's mom also drives me crazy with the way she talks to Sophia. The "baby goo" baby talk! Agh! If my mom talked to one of my kids that way, I would go nuts. I think Farrah's mom is also not all there. She is just goofy. I didn't know until this season that Farrah's daughter's dad died in a car accident and never knew that he had a daughter. I think she's been through a lot and she's doing pretty well this season. Last season I couldn't stand her.

Clearly I invest too much time into this show. My co-worker and I discuss it every week!

I am fearful that Catelynn will get pregnant again and keep the baby to try and win back the "love" of her horrible mother.

In fact I was looking on the MTV web site tonight for a way to send a note to Catelynn to let her know how brave and strong and mature I think she is. She made such a tough decision and I really admire her.

I haven't caught up to Season 2 yet, but every time I see Catelynn and Tyler with their parents I wish someone could adopt *them*.

Does anyone know how much they get paid to be on the show? It must be a something or maybe money for a trust for the kids?

the girls are suppose to discuss it but it is put into a trust for their kids. They have to complete the show and later they will get access to it. Right now they do not get the money to spend.

I agree with what others have said...everytime I watch it, I say out loud, "Can I just adopt Catelynn and Tyler?" I was pregnant when I saw their original episode and bawled like a baby. The strength and love it took to hand that sweet baby over so she could have a better life amazed me.
