The preview looks good, like an old fashioned reality show with people actually living their lives. I know she's not really Spanish, but she looks so much like Ursula Corbero from The Jackal especially with her hair up.

I do feel sorry for the kids who were raised in this deception and wonder how it will affect them long term.

Not only did she pretend to be from Spain, but, when she was called out as being non-Spanish, she pretended that spending a lot of time vacationing at her parents' place in Spain during summers was the same as being Spanish. The deliberate ignorance about the difference between Spanish vacations and actual Spanish ethnicity was ridiculous.

Yes! It's astonishing but true that she continued with the fake accent and tried to spin the situation to bullying her because she was bilingual and multicultural or "fluid."

My theory was that Alec truly believed her so she had to keep up the pretense or lose him. In the beginning he thought she was from Spain. See examples of him on video literally saying "My wife is from Spain." Then he changed it to she spent a lot of time in Spain and school was involved, neither of which appear to be true.

Didn't it come out that her parents didn't even buy the Mallorca house until she was well into her 20s? And it turned out she had been to Spain something like twice for two weeks each? I don't remember the details but I remember it being REALLY egregious, her "ties" to the country were super limited.

Her father David Thomas loved Spanish culture. This is a piece he wrote. He and Hilary’s mother moved to Spain 2011 although it seems they still spend a lot of time in the USA as well.

I clicked on the link. They had a picture of their seven kids with their names listed: The couple share Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, María and Ilaria.

No Hispanic heritage between Alec from NY and Hilary from Boston and these are their kids' names. How weird to cosplay a Spanish family.

I would love to know what her relationship is like with her parents and what they think of all of this. Also thoughts from the brother who has an actually Spanish wife!

The weirdest part to me is not only is she not Spanish, but she doesn’t even SPEAK Spanish! There are a handful of clips of her saying one or two simple, present tense sentences (with an admittedly good accent), but there are no long interviews or podcasts where she’s speaking fluently. It’s just so crazy.

She was definitely an adult when they moved to Spain, but she made it her whole identity. "My family lives in Spain."

Anyone else think they are trying to cash in after the terrible accident caused by economic shooting his producer?
I saw a commercial on tv for their show and it said something about "life after tragedy" but isnt the real tragedy for the family that lost a mother/wife/daughter?

ONE of the tragedies is that this happened and caused a lot of trouble for Baldwin and his wife and therefore, their kids. Trying to parent 7 kids when they didn't know if he was going to jail or would ever work again would be difficult. Yes, they have money and nannies, but I think she's a present parent. And probably wasn't for a time because this happened.
