I’m amazed at how much storytelling they pack into the episodes yet it feels very complex.

It’s really good writing. And acting!

All the blood spewing into the poor intern’s mouth was a little over the top. Who knew a tonsillectomy could go so wrong?

Guess I'm in the minority, but to me it feels pretty predictable.

The episode I just watched, ep 5 (11am), I am not liking the abortion storyline or the gross blood spewing and the intern who keeps having to change his scrubs.

Generally, I like the show though.

Also what is the loud mouth girl intern going to even complain about about the resident? He is doing nothing wrong with her?

Is he jewish? He plays a Jew on the show.

Why?

I really like it. I wasn’t sure about the hour by hour time frame, but I’m finding I like it. I like hospital shows, and one of the pitfalls is always those patients that you wish you could see more of. The lawsuit is so dumb. Good or bad, hospital shows are hospital shows. You have the doctors and staff and their ongoing storylines, and the patients supplying everything from comedy to tragedy. I could make a bingo card. Twin to Twin Transfer Syndrome. Major Disaster, patient identities get switched. Heroic correction of diagnosis: omg your child does not have a rare cancer it’s actually strep! The Chrighton estate should have taken their free money and run.

Why what?

Why is someone asking if he’s Jewish? It’s not relevant to the thread and it’s just weird to ask.

Of course it is. I am wondering if he's Jewish in real life like the character on the show. If not, it's kind of a weird thing to throw into an episode.

You sound extremely anti-semitic

No they really don't. I think they're concerned about non-Jews representing real ones.

Dude, it's called acting. If you're looking for "representation" in a show like this, you're... a little lost.

You don't seem to have an actual complaint about the performance, or the content of the show. Stop making drama where there isn't any.

You need to join the rest of us in the 21st century. Black face anyone?

Bro, there is a WORLD of difference between blackface and someone playing a character outside their religion in a completely benign, non-offensive way. If you don't understand that, I don't know how to help you.

I am not your bro. And you are talking to at least 3 different people who disagree with you.

Unlikely; there seems to be a sockpuppet. Regardless, the point stands. A character mentioning a religious belief and/or affiliation is nothing close to blackface. Deal therewith.

Why not ask Jeff? He will confirm for you that there are three posters disagreeing with you on this stance.

Because I don't care, nor do I see why you do. You can claim that you have "the numbers" to back you, and it doesn't change the flimsiness of your argument.

3 people on an anon board do not "ultimate truth about reality" make. I've seen plenty of small groups of people be dead wrong with their asses out, so 🤷🏼‍♀️

You're overly invested. No one cares what you think anyway.

How about a Christian actor portraying a religious Muslim. Would you see any issue there?

These are all within the same world of inquiry - we can decide this one is more important than that one, however we like, but once we start gatekeeping about one type of person playing another type of person, we have to interrogate all instances.

The whole point of acting is becoming a person you're not. Are you going to demand that all your serial killer characters be played by "authentic" serial killers?

Provided it's not being done to mock or disparage, playing outside your own characteristics is just acting.

Then what's wrong with blackface?

"Provided it's not being done to mock or disparage..."

I was born in that hospital! Loving it.

Isn't part of the purpose of that to give you the modern day underfunded waiting room reality?

I think it’s very high quality. I don’t like a couple of characters but that’s fine. There hasn’t be some conflict between the drs/residents and nurses.

Dr R is great with families. The teaching going on seems to be on point. Santos (I think) is the worst.

I looked for the part about this list but didn’t catch that. Can you explain?

I did. I’ve heard of it happening. There’s always risk of hemorrhage after.

I don’t like Dr. Collins at all. She’s not warm at all and I don’t understand why she doesn’t get along with Dr. Robbie. Also, her whole pregnancy storyline is weird. She’s not married and doesn’t even seem to have a partner. Who is the father?

Do'es this dumb argument even matter? Wyle's dad was Jewish and he grew up around both religions though not observant. so it's fine

Wylie said in a recent interview he’s half Jewish.
