Are Patagonia Puffers tacky?

I just got back from skiing and took 3 coats- my ski jacket, a Patagonia equivalent puffer (Stio brand) for non ski activities, and a long down coat for evenings when it was very cold. Different coats for different purposes.
Three coats for 1 trip! Couldn’t you pare this down?

I could, but we were driving so easy enough to toss them in the car, and we were gone 10 days in 2 different locations so it was helpful to have the range of options.

The only people who wear CG There will be flashy American and Asian tourists

I was there this week last year! It’s not as cold as you might expect. Have water resistant outerwear, good boots. I’ve been a lot for work and the culture is practical above all else (my danish friends all say any form of wealth signaling is just offensive)

It looks like a sleeping bag or an ll bean puffer blanket.

As for me, I have the HHI and generational wealth to wear my furs without a bat of the eye in this type of weather. That is, assuming I 1) am in residence in this area at the moment (we have multiple residences across the globe and 2) Actually deign to leave my house for some reason in this type of weather.

P.S. LL Bean supports a certain felon ex-president...

Yes, the "silent" one. See the difference with the clean lines?

People say the fabric used for the silent down jacket tears easily.

I don’t think some posters on this thread understand the meaning of the word “tacky.”

Talking about your multiple residences is tacky. A conservative winter coat is the opposite of tacky.

FYI this particular person hasn't been sentenced yet so he is not a felon (yet). It may never happen. And the biggest jury in the US found him not guilty so that trumps the New York jury. But pertinent to this thread, your comment is tacky.

Agree, but I also don't understand the judgement. If someone wants a flashy CG or Moncler and they can afford it, go for it. Not everyone wants a conservative coat and not everyone wants a flashy one. People like different things.

I do question folks who come to DCUMs for fashion advice.

Be careful wearing it in Georgetown.
