What is her caliber? She’s a middle aged washed up r and b singer. Her peak was like 15 years ago. Most of her washed up r n b peers are doing the cruise circuit or recording gospel albums that might sell 50k units.

It's pathetic to have your 12 year old daughter gyrating in a sexy manner and outfit on a national stage.

NP. Like…she’s Beyoncé. Stop acting like she’s some no-name has been.

Did you think it was going to be live singing? For starters, the whole thing started in a tunnel, which would have been echoey and not appropriate for singing live. This was not a secret.

Lip syncing is always tacky. Play a recording and dance if you don’t want to sing.

And you’re envious of her, which is even more sad.

I can't stand Jay Z (never liked him). I can respect Beyonce as a performer and as an artist. Not sure why you have to see one of the most successful artists on earth through her dh at all. They are separate people.

I think PP means she’s being trotted out because of the recent allegations, but presumably this was in the works prior to that

This is Beyonce. She doesn't need to be "trotted out". And of course it was in the works for a long time!

Technically speaking, she *was* trotted out lol

I feel like people complaining and nitpicking did not watch the performance.

I watched it and didn't like it at all. The songs and country album are terrible. It could be satire, honestly, but I don't think Bey is smart enough to pull it off. Sadly, she is serious with this country crap. The biggest insult to my ears was her rework of "Jolene."

Your ears are biased

It’s all overproduced and overwrought trash, Blue Ivy Aunties.

Without Jay Z, I think Beyonce would be another Dianna Ross, with appeal to people from all ages and people who loved all different kinds of music.

Beyonce is so gracious and elegant and I don't remember her ever doing or saying anything controversial. She has a right to sing country, opera, or whatever she wants.

I don't think she and other singers of her caliber need to dress and dance like they do, especially with her daughter on stage. The moves are so acceptable now, but for someone my age, Diana Ross never had to dance on stage like that.

Cher used to dress in provocative clothes. Madonna may have been one of the first to sing and dance provocatively. Lady Gaga doesn't really dance that way although she does where the costumes.

It's just normalized now that the singers dance like they're pole dancers.

They will call us pearl-clutchers but I was remarking to my DH that female performers are all allergic to pants or skirts. They just wear spangly leotards. The chaps are too much.

Who performance dances in pants and skirts? OK, sometimes skirts, usually only in troupes doing cultural heritage performances of centuries old dances.

Especially when you haven’t yet begun the process of very necessary facial reconstruction I mean “letting her grow into her looks” process.

My vote is yes

She is a little big for my taste

Thank goodness you’re here! I’m sure she’s doing her best to specifically attract you sexually in your split-level and Dockers.

- from the Levii Jeans song

It was a cool song until I read the lyrics. Way too risque for a mother to be singing in a performance where her daughter is nearby.

I am a woman who grew up listening to Prince, and my clueless parents didn't know or have easy access to the lyrics of his music.

She might as well have performed Darling Nikki on Christmas Day in a show with her teen daughter at a football game.

There was always a little wink or wit somewhere in a Prince song, even when he got literally audio-porno with stuff. The Beyoncé crap is just like anime explicit cartoons - soulless and dumb. Her kid has no charm or appeal and has a declined face card. I don’t think she did this show to save her alleged rapist husband but it wasn’t actually good or anything.

I'm not envious of any woman who is encouraging her 12 year old daughter to dress and dance in public like she's an adult.

DP. 12 is young for this, IMO.

I’m sure the intent is for her to eventually be launched as a teen pop star.
