Am I a stalker?

Anonymous
My internet sleuthing is limited to looking up their house on Zillow or property records to see how much they paid.

I think I'm just nosy but maybe I'm a stalker??

Creepy.

You need to take stalking to the next level and find their reddit handle. It's surprisingly easy to do if you know their location and general interests.

My ex gf from college rode horses, was a PA, and was from a small resort town in the PNW. I've been following her for a couple years.

It's amazing what people will reveal whew they think they are anonymous.

This piece by John Green is brilliant. The Googling Strangers part starts at 8:00 minutes.

I recommend the complete audiobook for road trips.

Enough people have admitted to me that they do this that I think most people do. One friend admitted she does a whole google search every time she meets someone.

That’s why I think OP has gone just a little too far with the kid’s game and the screenshot. It sounds like a crush. Just keep it harmless, OP.

OP public information is just that. Whether it's face book, county records, etc. Many look up old flames, new possible partners to check them out which is very smart.

Driving by his house is over the line IMO. Especially since you can observe anyone's house from Google Maps, or Zillow.

Nothing close to meet the definition of a stalker.

OP I hope you understand most have cameras and they could easily spot you driving by their house. Stop that nonsense.

He told me his son made JV basketball and what school he played at, so I watched a game online.

My coworker gave a talk, which was later posted on YouTube. He told me about it, so I watched it and made a screenshot of him and saved it to my phone.

I looked up what his wife does. She’s also a physician, but at a different hospital.

Nothing is illegal. Everything is out there for anyone to see. He shares info with me, then I find a little more. Am I a stalker?

This parts in bold are weird. I will admit to looking up things online about people. I can tell you what most people paid for their houses, LOL. But actually driving by, watching their kids game online, and screen shots, that is just weird.

He is really nice to me. I am attracted to him.

Anyway, he told me he lived 1.5 mi from a certain mall, so he told me the general area.

Back off, psycho.

Definitely stalking

this is not stalking. It is good you are questioning it and sort of recognizing the behavior is not normal, but it is not stalking. The behavior is creepy and crosses normal professional boundary lines, so stop before it escalates more.

You sound crazy.

Driving by his house and looking up info about his kid is over the line. Lite stalker'y. Especially after you admitted your attraction.

The rest? Acceptably nosey in the age of the Internet.

Agree with this post. why would you watch a kid's game?? If you have a crush on him ...look him up. but not the poor kid..

You must have a lot of free time or something!

DH here: ~sigh~ No women ever stalk *me* out of sheer atavistic attraction. The DHs of DCUM should start a support thread on this.
