Why is it that straight men can't have their own damn space anymore? Now straight guys are forced to accept women and trans in their locker rooms?
Why can't a man do the reverse where he goes and says in an adult women's hockey league and demands to change with all do the girls in theocker room? That's not allowed, but straight guys have to accept invasion of their space by everyone else? |
Because that isn't a CoEd hockey league. I am sure there are Men's Hockey Leagues where women aren't allowed. A CoEd hockey league could theoretically be majority women, in which case your scenario will play out. |
Almost every mens league is actually a coed league. The pattern in almost every sports is a women league and a coed league that is essentially a mens league. That holds from rec through professional levels in most sports |
If men only got aroused by pin-up models, the women of DCUM would never be getting pregnant. |
Sure. Wait until Mikayla Demaiter joins your team in your co-ed league and wants to change with the guys in the locker room or wants to take a shower next to you. |
Because men’s locker rooms are unisex and women’s locker rooms are for women. |

My women’s league has men who rotate through as goalies. When they are assigned a game they dress in a separate room. We do have some trans players (female to male) who play with us as well. Some dress in the locker room, others dress elsewhere—whatever they feel more comfortable with. We have straight and gay women in the locker room and no one is checking anyone out in the showers or otherwise.
When I play with a men’s team, I choose to change elsewhere because that’s my preference. In my experience it’s mostly younger women who don’t think twice about changing in a predominantly male locker room and they are the super speedy changers. They aren’t sticking around to witness anyone getting in the shower and they aren’t stripping down to their birthday suit either. |

This thread is wild. I've been playing beer league hockey for a long time, and have played with and against plenty of women. Generally they get changed with the rest of the team, but not always. Rarely seen any nudity when getting ready to play. Some guys shower at the rink afterwards, some go home to shower. Generally, if there is a woman in the locker room, they would be more circumspect in getting into the shower, but no one is ever parading around naked.
(FYI, one of my favorite memories was when two of my teammates (a man and a woman) showed up for a game one night and announced that they had gotten married that afternoon! Ten years later, they are happily married with a kid). |
| I have played beer league for a long time as well and have had basically the same experience as the guy above. It’s up to the female players whether they want to change in the locker room with the guys or in their own space. We’re all adults and nobody is checking each other out in the locker room. Nobody really seems to care whether the female players are in there or not. It is definitely not some major social issue where male players “need their own space.” This thread is way off the rails. |
I dunno what leagues you have played in, but I've played in leagues where most dudes don't shower to leagues where guys just walk around for 20 minutes completely nude letting the sausage flop around. One guy gave zero Fs and would just sit there nude and crush beers. He'd even clip his toenails nude before games. |
Ostensively? |
Frankly I assume that men that play in coed hockey leagues have more mature, less misogynistic views about women than you do, and everyone is pretty cool. Anyone who wants to keep the locker room a place to brag about bagging babes and other crass activities would likely play in a men's only league. |
This is consistent with my experience as well. |
| What kind of butches play in a coed beer league |
All kinds of women play in Coed leagues. Some are ex-college players, who are very good, and some are women who picked up the game as adults. Some are great looking, some are average, and some are less than that (just like the men). |
