Where is somewhere quiet I can go during the day?

We have some family staying with us for the holidays and I need to get away for extended periods of time, like a solid 5-6 hours some days. Are there any really nice public libraries around here that anyone likes the best? Thank you!

Edit: Anywhere in Northern Virginia please

Most Libraries have small private reading rooms.

The Burke Center Library is very nice. Has a very light and airy vibe.

Not OP but you’ve made my day. I had no idea that La Madeleine still exists.

Do you have a friend who is in-person at work? I have a friend who comes over and work at our house when she needs space from visitors. Bonus is that when she needs an excuse she doesn’t lie about where she’s going- she can say she has to be at my house to let a worker in or sign for an important delivery that’s insured. I arrange those things for when she’s over.

The thing is that you can only use this excuse 1-2x before your family starts to think the friend is really flakey or offers to come over themselves to help.

This! And, many also have free wi-fi and an attached coffee shop.
